Why would it hurt to say that? I just enjoy following and watching the game. Not my fault you get upset at the suggestion your side isn't perfect.

Didnt win today with great D (Spurs scored 99 at nearly 50%)..won with a great PG performance

Excellent win by the Bulls. I think we have now beaten Boston, Miami, Orlando, Lakers, Dallas, and now the Spurs the last time we played.

Rose with 42 glorious points. MVP MVP MVP!

was very impressive, Bulls look a completly different side with Boozer in it

Boozer is a serious talent. Makes the bulls look a lot different anyway.

Lebron was a bit unlucky. Only the 2nd player to ever rack up a triple double in an All Star game. He didn't get it because the East didn't win.

Good to see Kobe scoring points freely in a game with no defence, has struggled to do that at times this season in the games that count. ;)

Amazing how even in a silly muck around game with superstars all over the court he still couldn't find a way to pass the ball instead of shoot......

Good to see some imagination going on, but I think the people selected for the dunk contest demanded it. By going with 4 big men I think they made a big mistake. Often the little guys can make it look spectacular without that creativity and gimmicks, plus their ball handling skills allow them a greater range or tricks.

I'd prefer to see instead of the 4 guys that dunk the most in a game to try to always select 2 prolific dunkers and then another couple of smaller guards who perhaps don't dunk much in a game because they don't get the chance. I know they were going to do it with Jennings, but then they made the mistake of replacing him with a big guy.

Melo to the Knicks...

Deal as follows.

Denver Get....
Wilson Chandler, (NY)
Raymond Felton, (NY)
Danilo Gallinari, (NY)
Timofey Mozgov (NY)
2014 First Round Draft pick (NY)
& additional picks & cash.

New York Get....
Carmello Anthony (DEN)
Chauncey Billups, (DEN)
Shelden Williams, (DEN)
Anthony Carter (DEN)
Renaldo Balkman, (DEN)
Corey Brewer (MIN)

Minnesota Get....
Anthony Randolph (NY)
Eddy Curry (NY)

New York forced to give up a bit more than first thought. But getting 2 top 10 players has to be a bonus for any team.

Look out for New York to come good in 2012, if they have a season!

No doubt a huge relief for Denver. No doubt they would have been crapping themselves about getting nothing for Anthony.

Not sure about 2 top ten players. Melo in the top 10, Billups is a useful starting point guard and obviously has a good relationship with Anthony. But Billups, Anthony and Stoudamire make a pretty useful core to build around. Have a couple months here to work on their chemistry before next season. If they get a full season in next year they will definitely be up there with Miami, Chicago and Orlando. Not sure yet whether Boston might slip down the pecking order in the east, but we'll see.

Anthony when on song is probably the single most devastating player in the league. Not sure about his defensive abilities and certainly doesn't fill the boxes enough either, but the smell of a championship has changed many a player before.

That Blake over the car dunk was only average, but he was always going to win due to it being a popularity contest. It's a shame we didn't get to see DeRozan vs McGee in the Final.

As for the Knicks, they will need to get a new coach before they do anything even with Melo. Their offence at all costs style of play will get them nowhere, even with Melo because he hates defending as much as D'Antoni.

You don't count Amare as a top Ten NBA player? Surely without a doubt he is the best Power Forward in the game right now, except for maybe Dirk (but they play different styles obv)

Boston will be in the East finals again, no matter where they finish this season. Only if they are full strength. The only other thing that will keep them out of the Eastern Conference finals is if Miami meet them before that. IMO

Can't wait for the actual finals series, every matchup in both East & West will be hard fought. Except 1 vs 8 in the east. That will be a sweep.

They already had Amare, so they didn't get him. But off the top of my head, I wouldn't say he was a top 10 player. He might scrape in, but I'd have James, Wade, Kobe, Howard, Rose, Durant, Nowitzki, Rondo, Anthony definitely ahead of him. Best power forward has some competition too. Dirk is miles ahead of Amare, but Love, Griffin, Bosh, Garnett, Duncan and Gasol are all more than capable and you could debate any of those are better than Amare.

As for Boston, I don't see them missing, but I was just unsure whether they would be mixing it with the best in the East again or slipping for to 5 or 6 and possibly even competing with the likes of the bucks for a lower spot in the seedings.

Maybe next year, but Boston should stay up around the top this year. Probably slip to 3rd behind Miami & Chicago.

Amare is def a top 10 player IMO. Which does open up an interesting Discussion point tho!

Lets list your Top 10 NBA players as they are, for this year. Not of all time, or not how good they were in the last couple. This Year

I'll go first :)

1.James
2.Durant
3.Rose
4.Wade
5.Howard
6.Dirk
7.Anthony
8.Amare
9.Aldridge (how this guy did not make the all star is beyond me)
10.Westbrook.

Its a hard list to write... notable absentees
Rondo
Ginobli
Byant (maybe a bit bias as i think that he is a hog but hasn't played as well this year)
Griffin (when he learns how to play he will be the best Power Forward the NBA has seen, Karl Malone but better)

What you guys think? Im sure there are many different opinions out there.

Yeah, my comment about Boston was in relation to next season with Anthony in New York. I don't think there's enough time for him to have too big an impact with the knicks right now.

And I thought I rated Kobe low! Well, this is my list. I was going to avoid it because it's a bloody tough thing to do, with other players on the teams always having an influence on how good one guy can play.

1. James - Best since Jordan. In 10 years, perhaps will be regarded as better than MJ too.
2. Nowitzki - Guy can shoot the ball from anywhere, under any pressure.
3. Durant - There's something about him I don't get the feeling I'd be too worried, but led a young side with few other top players to playoff action last year, been good again this year
4. Kobe - Splitting hairs between him and Rose IMHO. Kobe I think is selfish, but led the Lakers to the championship.
5. Rose - Breakout year really. Was a good player last year, but not a top 10 type. Boozer has helped him a bit to free up I think.
6. Anthony - Seems like a sook, but damn the guy can score.
7. Howard - Only guy on that magic roster I rate much at all, still gets them win after win.
8. Wade - Slipped a bit this year with LeBron coming to town but still one heck of a player
9. Rondo. Substance over style here. Gets the ball to anyone, anywhere they want it. 12 APG this season is just amazing. Everyone gets excited when a guy averaged 10 points 10 rebounds, but 10 assists is harder to get than both.
10. Ginobili - Sneaks in when I look at what the spurs have done and why.

Westbrook is getting close, Amare I just don't think is in this class. Aldridge is certainly one of the top big men in the comp now, would find him in my top 20 no doubt.

Yeah your right about Rondo, With rebounds its simple, but with assists not only do you have to make a pass, but they have to score, if you look at an average FG% from Boston's starters (50%) you would think that basically Rondo would be getting the guys in a scoring position 20-25 times a game so he is without a doubt up there. The only reason i didn't put a Celtic or a Spur in the top ten is because they are such good teams, that I don't think they do have a Top ten player this year, just such good teams. Don't get me wrong they are great players, but not when you have the list of players above. Duncan in his day was unreal and to have career lows in pretty much every category and still be named an All-Star & have the best record in the NBA is a credit to him and SA's coaching staff.

with your James/Jordan comparison, i believe, like you that in 10 years he will be as good or even better, providing he wins some rings. If Le Bron hadn't sat out so much of 4th quarters due to smashing teams, he may be averaging 26/10/10. As it stands, its just a lazy 26/7.4/7.3.

Pretty good list tho. Be interesting to see others too. Keep em coming.
