Denver absolutely SMASH the Miami side with LeBron James not playing, out injured...

Nuggets - 130

Heat - 102

This trade with New Jersey and Denver just swapping teams seems odd. I can only assume that New Jersey have been talking to Anthony and have a huge contract ready for him to sign. Otherwise, why would he go? Not like he'll be heading to a better team, if anything the team will be worse.

If I was Milwaukee I'd be working on him. Anthony would make them look a very useful side next year. Redd's contract would be up, so they should be able to pay him a good amount, would make Milwaukee a contender (IMHO) with the range Anthony gives them with those shots he has as well as allowing Bogut more space. This season is likely to be a write off for the bucks given their record now and injuries not allowing them to gain some momentum. But next year, add Anthony, get Bogut, Gooden, Jennings, Maggette and Delfino healthy (and a possible lottery pickup to add) and I think they look like rivals to Boston, Orlando and Chicago to take on Miami in the conference finals, from there you never know.

New York have stepped up the heat stating their interest in Melo again with the Grizzlies involved as well and the man on the trade table is Mayo. Apparently Melo does not wanna go to New Jersey.

Very odinary all right.

And Melo has stated it would be a dream to go back and play at NY. Deal will get done IMO.

Was chatting basketball with a mate the other day, who is a similar tragic of the sport, and said to him that the Knicks were the genuine smokies this year. Don't know that they can win the whole shebang, but their away record is really becoming a strength for them (12-9, one of the top 10 in the NBA). They have also been more defensive than past years so far in 2010-11. Only one or two top liners away from being a massive threat, IMHO.

Yeah they are definately smokies.

Cant get the whole job done this year IMO.

I agree 1/2 top liners away from being a real force. Not unlike Chicago IMO.

Anyone wanting to get Carmelo would be really keen to stop him signing this contract extension if they can, then they can sign him without losing any players.

On a side note, anyone else less than impressed with Bosh? He was always #3 behind LeBron and Wade, but he is almost a kitten inside. Most of his points come from 18ft jumpers, which is all good, but they have James, Wade, Jones, Arroyo et al for the outside shots, what Miami need is more inside presence. Ilgauskas is a 20 minute man these days, and with Bosh the next big in line (you would think) he should be doing far more damage inside. He should be averaging more like 12 rebounds a game, not the 8 he's at right now for the size he has and minutes he plays. And with Lebron out, should be stepping up more, but he's not.

Bosh's stats for the current season:

G GS MPG FG% 3p% FT% OFF DEF RPG APG SPG BPG TO PF PPG
41 41 35.6 0.503 0.267 0.814 1.8 6.5 8.3 1.9 0.8 0.7 1.7 2.3 18.7

The points are cool, he doesn't need to score more than that with LeBron and Wade there, but the rebounds, assists and blocks are all disappointing. 35.6 MPG, with some seriously good outside shooters 1.9 assists a game is ordinary. Less than a block a game to go along with low rebounds show's he's a bit of a kitten in the paint.

His stats last year:
G GS MPG FG% 3p% FT% OFF DEF RPG APG SPG BPG TO PF PPG
70 70 36.1 0.518 0.364 0.797 2.9 7.9 10.8 2.4 0.6 1.0 2.41 2.43 24.0

Minutes similar, but with less focus on him he'll get less shots, everyone knew that. But why have his rebound, assist and block numbers dropped? This guy needs to seriously get his act together, get closer to the basket more regularly and be the presence inside he was recruited to be. In a finals series with the Lakers (if that happens) he and Ilgauskas have to contend with Gasol, Odom and Bynum. If I was in charge of the Heat, I'd be starting to wonder if I need to add another big body.

Lebron didn't play..

Still a good win though, Rose was excellent but Korver's final shot was incredible. I also loved the Rose vs Wade 1 on 1 battle over the closing minutes, two local lads going at it. Just glad we managed to get over the line.

Bulls break their Memphis 5 game losing streak and win away from home with no Boozer and still no Noah.

Rose with a triple double (Gun) and Korver with 22 from the bench with 6/10 from 3 land.

Good win again.

Meanwhile Blake Griffin and the Clips continue their golden run with a win over the Pacers and Griffin yet again scoring a double double finishing with 47 points and 14 rebounds

Rose's first triple double of his career! Was a great boxscore to wake up to today, didn't expect to get the win over an improving Grizzlies outfit when Boozer was ruled out. Ended up destroying them in the end.

Blake is a beast, I think the Clips are just too behind in the playoff race which is unfortunate.

Boston vs Orlando is on at the moment and is a good game, Lakers vs OKC should also be entertaining.

On Bosh, he has always been more of and outside scorer he aint big enough or strong enough in my view to dominate the paint. The Heat do need to find a young big man not these over the hill veterans but i just when u got stuff all cap room u take what u can..

Heat went down to the Hawks, due to some poor shooting and some blokes with major minutes giving little contribution. But how about this from the guy who replaced Bosh in the starting lineup:

MIN OFF DEF TOT AST PF ST TO BS BA PTS
J. Anthony 43:12 8 8 16 0 5 1 1 3 0 0

This is actually the sort of box I was hoping that Bosh might provide. No doubt Bosh will score more points, but he doesn't actually need to most of the time. But 16 rebounds (8 on each end) 3 blocks and 5 fouls show he was tough inside. From a guy who is 2 inches shorter but 5 kilos heavier than Bosh.

Funny thing is for the record the Heat have they still seem a long way from a finished product.
