Normal Playoffs (where Home(H) is the higher seeded team therefore gaining Home Court Advantage)

H, H, A, A, H, A, H

Finals

H, H, A, A, A, H, H

i dont like it. it really puts a head of pressure on the higher seeded team to not drop one of the first two games, or risk losing in 5 games on the lower ranked teams home court. i think this advantages to lower team alot more than the home team.

i understand that they probably expect the series to go to at least 6 games in most cases, therefore giving the higher team home court for the possibly deciding 6th and ultimatly 7th games.

if the lakers lose on of the first two, they're immediatly behind the 8-ball with playing 3 of the first 5 games on the other side of the country!

Making excuses already Banger LOL! Spewing I am at work would much rather be watching the game on the couch at home :(

Hopefully the next games are a bit closer for us neutrals.

The playoffs have been a bit disappointing in regards to the amount of blowouts so far.

I've been watching a bit of retro 'Showtime' Lakers footage. So entertaining, so awesome. Magic Johnson what a legend. On Youtube there is a Magic Johnson top 10 clutch plays. Unbelievable!!!

Here is the link:

You must love Port then? ;)

The Lakers are always up the top and always winning, I get a bit sick of that and would have liked to see another team up there. Magic vs Suns would have been perfect for me, but Boston have a very unlikeable team. Especially that sook Pierce, I wonder how many times he will feign injury this series?

Nah Glenelg supporter but really don't have much interest in the SANFL these days to be honest

Good win to the Lkaer *goes and washes mouth out* Game two is the important game of the series. If the Celtics can win game two it will make for an interesting games 3-4. If the lakers win the Celtics will need to find something for the remainig games not to get blown out in 4

NBA Finals
Game One

LA Lakers 102
Boston 89

Lakers lead series 1-0

What I saw in Game 1
- Ray Allen took EIGHT field goal attempts...not going to win doing that
- Why did Paul Pierce play 46 minutes??? (Celtics were down by 20 at 3 quarter time)
- The Celtics got smashed on the boards (42-31), yet 'Sheed played only 18 min (got 4 boards and had +3 +/- while on court) while only Pierce was able to grab more than 4 defensive boards
- Lakers dominated with nothing from the bench - 15 points & 8 reb (only 5 points & 4 reb for Odom)
- Pretty sure the Celtics cant shoot 1/10 3pt FG again, but can they shoot 30/36 from the line???
- 'Sheed got his frist T off the Finals ;)

Game two to the boys in Green. Ray Allen lead the way with 32 points for the Celtics whilst Rondo had 19 Points. Celtics won 103 to 94. Best scores for LA were Gasol with 25, Bynum and Kobe both got 21 points. Next two games are in Boston.

now, tell me how the Lakers had "home court advantage"? it dosnt make sense.

the 'tics woulda come to LA merely hoping to win a game, and it wouldn't be the end of the world if they didn't. now, every bit of pressure is on the lakers, as now they MUST win a game away, whereas the celtics didn't have to. there is no home court advantage at all in that.

Conversely if the C's didn't win a game on the road they would have had to win ALL home games just to stay alive.

I don't know the answer, but I would have thought any structure of games can see the advantage shift anytime a team wins on the road?

that's where the problem lies! they wouldn't have had to win all their home games! if they lost one, that would still only put the lakers up 3-2.

that's what i meant by the celtics DIDN'T HAVE TO win a game away, but now the lakers DO HAVE TO win a game away to stay alive.

you would think the lakers could get up for at least one on the road. but celtics will be very confident going in to the 3 home game stretch being 1-1. still think it will go to 7 with the celtics winning by about 10-12 points.
