Heading out tomorrow arvo for a bash at Bundoora. It’s the local track, nothing flash. Public course they do a deal $20 green fee after 1.00pm. Hoping it’s not too busy and I can get around fairly quickly. Need a practice hit before Kingston Heath the following week.

Foursomes today alternate tee and shots

It was a day that really could have been anything.
Again putts just burned past the edge. It was riduculous.
Ball striking was fairly solid....apart from off the tee. I drilled one nicely. But the fadey slice came back...after disappearing during the week....

Im due for a low score. I can sense a 79 not far away

I wussed out on playing a round today, long story.... Opted to hit the range instead. Started off with a few easy 8 irons, all good. Worked through to 6 iron, ok. 4 iron a few dodgies. Hybrid coming out ok, 3 wood was a mixed bag. Pulled Driver....only hit probably a dozen with it Max. Smoked 10 of them... for me, couldn’t hit them any better than that. The 2 so-so ones weren’t the worst either. Put the club back in the bag... that one is dialled in! Basically hit the last half bucket with 9 irons and all 3 wedges. Sweating my tits off after 70 balls. Adjourned to the Bundoora pub for a beer and a punt! :D

Course is in excellent condition.
Greens are almost back to peak condition after coring and your putts will still bobble all over the joint.

If you're a fat fooker like me, the heart starts pumping through the 2nd and 3rd as you walk up the mountain.

33pts isnt a bad day out on most tracks

But its nowhere near the prizes at Thaxted....unfortunately you need 40pts to be half a chance...

White twin cab ute was mine.

Certainly had trouble reading the greens, really slow before the hole then gathers speed after and breaking back towards the club house..... even going uphill! Really couldn't get the speed all day.

No idea what you were driving but saw 4 guys in carpark at 1ish as I was unloading and someone thanked 'Mickey' as I had my head down putting my shoes on...... not sure if it was your group.
Id like to think SA only has room for 1 Mickey.

I still have trouble reading the greens. They are on the slow side with the recent coring.

I can only assume you may have had light green shirt??? I had the Cats bag...if you happened to notice it.
Happy to report you didnt dig up the course too much.....

Apart from the greens. What did you think of the course?? I assume it was windy during your round as well??

We actually commented on the bag as 1 of our group has the same bag! Green shirt was me.

Course layout was good, few challenging tee shots and a few for the brave to take on. Can really tell that there's been no rain as the fairways were pretty dry and hard in places.

Was a little surprised that there weren't tee times for both front and back 9 tees.

Were you brave enough to have a crack on any of the shorter par 4s??

I think course has had 1mm of rain since Jan 1st....something ridiculously low like that.

Also took an aggressive line over the dam on 13?.... not totally by choice but still ended up 20m short. Were are few others where wind allowing could be reachable too

Lads, as mickey, carey, Corona Man and MT_79 have enjoyed a day with me I'll give two others an opportunity to join me.

Friday 4th May, Mt Osmond. Fully catered, don't drive, need to be there by 8am for breakfast.

I need a confirmation, shirt size and handicap.

The 4 mentioned above, you'll be on the bench if needed. ;)

GO!
