Well this rain can feck off anytime it likes.

Gonna be a heavy 10 by tomorrow, which may be enough for me to wave the white flag in surrender.

Anyone else out this weekend, if so, pack your floaties.

Whatcha talkin bout Willis.......

Morning Showers tomorrow which is good with an afternoon tee off for me ;) ......its the wind I'm petrified about. Hate wind, don't mind playing in just rain but both combined can feck right off........

Sunday seems to be the pick of the days.

The joys of winter golf in the hills.

We are coping a decent drop up here today, not quite biblical, but hopefully someone is gathering marine grade timbers, and arranging animals in pairs.

My home track tends to get a bit moist. It will probably still be ok tomorrow, but this rain better ease off. Usually we are ok in June, but July & August can be problematic. We have a good reciprocal deal with Murray Bridge, so the club (more or less) heads down there during the wettest part of the year. It's only a 25/30 minute trek from my gaff, so its ok.

They are still predicting heavy falls & local flooding up here.

Sunday is pennant - and I have been left out for the first week.... not too cut up by that either!

My apologies Heater... MT is indeed the resident burglar on here.

88 is good going. I play with a 75 year old bloke most weeks. Deaf as a post, a brass band could be playing behind him when he is over the ball. He'd be completely oblivious... I can't wait to be that bloke!

Anyone out their have a golf travel bag. By that I mean an "overbag" that you fit your regular clubs into when you travel. I've noticed a few blokes with them on my travels around the place. I am looking for one big enough for not only my bag & clubs, and on wheels. But enough room for shoes, and a few items of clothing. The good ones, so I am told are Srixon or Titleist jobs. Looked at a Titleist one during the week.... $500, bit rich.

^ This is the kind of thing I am after.

Interested in a rough price and how anyone has found them for travelling with.

Cheers

I use an older model of this type Taylormade 2015 Tour Stand Bag Basically a condensed version of my normal bag with tees, glove, towels and I think I have even squished my shoes in there at one point and put on the plane. At the airport you will have to check it in as over sized luggage as it won't travel on the loading systems and will have to be manually handled by the ground crew. Which can sometime work in your favour if its the only bag you check on as its first off the plane and unloaded and placed outside in the baggage hall with a security guard standing over it along with the baby strollers....

Used it in a Wet round too and things stayed reasonably dry even when carrying the clubs.

Eagles and Birdies make top quality bags that cost a mint, I would expect their travel versions to be of similar construction.

Cheers Heater. I'm looking for a travel bag/cover that you can put your regular bag into for travel. There are a few about. The Eagle & Birdie ones I've seen are ok. Just not big enough to take a few extra items.

Mate, I bought one a couple of years ago off of squizzysgolf.com.au
Does the job perfectly for travelling on planes, fits my oversized Ping bag, shoes & jackets/jumpers etc
I don't know how to put the link up but it's still on their website for $69 + p&h ($20 max I'd say)
Look under bags/buggies, it's an "Orlimar Traveler 4.0 Wheeled Travel Cover"
It's nothing flash to look at but it certainly does the job for me.

Yep, played 9 holes. Didn't pick up any wet weather gear during the week, which isn't a problem as such, but the sideward rain was.
Was +1 after 9 and with limited players could've been around the mark.....

Yep, been home now for around 2hrs and not a drop of rain. I live about 10mins from course. As I was driving home I could see it clearing up over the ocean but on course it looked like it was set in....

Well to be perfectly frank, you can stick your golf fair up your ******* ar$e! -

Played stroke round on Saturday, battled away all day. Few Pars, few bogeys, the odd double. Came good on the back nine, and despite a 3 stab (putt) double bogey on the last was only a few shots over handicap - and in the money..... Or so it seemed. Rookie mistake (how after playing for 20 odd years) didn't sign my card -

But get this, checking Golflink, it does not say Disqualified, I have actually been handicapped on the round, and it's become one of my current top 8 cards..... WTF! I call Double Jeopardy there.

Some circumstances surrounding the DQ that I am not that happy about. I will cop not signing my card. That's dumb. But......
