how is it? playing a golf day there next week.

Played The Dunes Pt Hughes Saturday, again impressed with the course, greens perfect, fast but very true. First time Ive played it with a bit of wind which made it tougher, was a cross wind for most holes.

Played off the silver tees for the front 9 hitting a 43, mate that was with us hit a 38. Us 2 decided to give the black tees a go for the back 9 adding up to 80m on each hole. It actually made me concentrate more and hit a 42 which I was rapt with, was on track for a 40 but doubled the 18th.

If you want a weekend away and like good beaches, good fishing, relaxing and a hit on a top quality golf course do yourself a favour and get up there for a weekend. Ive been going up there 30 years and its never been better.

Honestly don't know why people still bother to play down there...

The powers to be need to stop taking the easy/cheap option and spend some coin to improve the course.

Like turning a sprinkler on? It is pretty baron at the moment.

I go there from time to time after work because there is nobody there, kids can come for a walk while I race around and its cheap. 6 months of good watering and TLC would do the place wonders.
If you want to go quickly, go alone.

If you want to go far, go together.

They need to do more then just turn on a few sprinklers.
That course needs some love from the greenskeepers

Golf Day last friday at Mt Barker and was the best nick Ive seen the course in ever, have changed the fairways to santa ana and a couple are still growing but its made a huge difference to the course. The greens were superb, nice and quick.

Had a good day, John Blackman was the MC and very funny man, he played a couple of holes with us. On the 2nd they had a Toyota FJ Cruiser for a hole in one, none of us in our group hit the green
