Looks like Im in the market for a new driver, went to get a stiff shaft on my current one and they want $160 to do it!!

Rather put that towards a new one.

Will head to Drummonds first as I have a voucher for them, but if anyone has any recommendations let me know.

Ive been using a 8.5 degree driver but with a normal shaft, a scratch golfer I play with suggest my swing would be better suited to a stiff shaft.

If you are a scratch golfer who can get an 8.5 degree driver into the air then you definitely need a stiff shaft. I use Ping G15s and have gradually bought them all off ebay or TGW at huge price reductions. Getting a 4wood delivered tomorrow for $85 plus postage $25. RRP $276
People who bought this book also bought a stool and some rope. Unknown literary critic

Free shipping only applies to ground delivery. So basically the main land US states. Everywhere else requires a plane or two....

Firstly Im not a scratch golfer! It was a scratchy that told me I needed a stiff shaft.

At first the 8.5 was hard to get used to but now love how it keeps pretty low and gets the extra roll.

Just Found an Australian Alternative to Rockbottom :D Not huge range of gear but still cheaper than most retail outlets.

Australian Golf Online

my R11 Fairway and Hybird arrived today from the Golf Clearance Outlet and now I'm itching to test them out so I can use them on the weekend.

Really torn between getting the Stock R11 Driver or biting the bullet and go all out for the R11s. Has anyone got one???

Since I have upgraded so much gear I now have 2 sets of clubs for sale to pay for some of this new stuff

So if anyone is looking for a set to get started or for their child please feel free to drop a PM my way and we can discuss 8)

Used the New clubs at the driving range last night and it them ok. I think it is going to take me a while to adjust them to how I want them to play. I think I have the Hybird just about spot on but the fairway is going to take some more time. Range balls seem to spray all over the shop more than normal golf balls

On the Driver front I have just ordered a Second Hand R11 from Global Golf in excellent condition. Delivery is a little steep compared to Rockbottom but even with the excellent second hand club and head cover thrown in as well it has actually worked out cheaper than buying new from a Shop or Rockbottom.

Playing Highercombe on Sunday...

Never played the course before, can anyone tell me what it's like and what condition it is currently in?

I know it is a little hilly so with my dodgy knee, I have hired a cart :)

Found it very narrow on quite a few holes. Keep the driver in the bag for a fair bit of the round. Last time I was there the greens were immaculate. Have fun walking the first, will get the heart rate up.

Played like 5hite.
Not making excuses because I am carp anyway lol. But ended up only playing 9 as I rolled my bad ankle. Getting back out this weekend on both days which should be good. My swing has been completely changed and it is a bit awkward at the moment but it has taken out that nasty, nasty hook.

I don't think you need a cart piccachu, you could benefit in more ways than one walking 18 holes. ;)
