Dutchy, don't think you will go wrong on any of the courses down there, I have only played The National and can only say sensational. Have had great reports on most of the courses on the Peninsula. I haven't played any of the sand belt, much to the amusement of my playing four, I would try and get on one of them, if they are half as good as what I am told, golfing heaven.

Managed an 89 with a 10 and a 7  - had a tin cup moment on the 14th... after driving into the water on the right I managed to plonk another 2 in before changing clubs (idiot). First double figure in a long time, and the group managed to chat about it all the rest of the round/trip home. Cost me bourbons on the way home too. Bastards!

Next round Echunga in 2 weeks

I played Lady Bay a couple of weeks ago and the greens were very sluggish. Quite soft and long. I realise they had were cored a couple of weeks beforehand, but the should have been at least cut and rolled on the Friday, especially before a comp on a Saturday

Ended up with a 93 (best score in a while), could have been lower if I didn't lose my shit on the 9 and come off with a 9 (4putt)!
Nearly holed the 6th Par 3. Ended up about 2 foot short but, put it in for a nice 2 ;)
Hoping to get out for a hit next Sunday and in the process of organising a hit with Keefy @ The Vines

Will get a round organised soon mate, hopefully can get you out there before Christmas.

Bloody Hillly! Was good fun, was my first hit for 6 months and would definately play there again. Golf carts are a must. Fairways weren't in great nick and the Greens looked like they'd been cored a couple of weeks back but still a nice course. Most of the holes were slightly dog legs to the right which suited my strong fade (I refuse to call it a slice) nicely. Highlight for me was driving the ball on the green on I think hole 15 or 16.
We played 2 man ambrose against each other, the other guys had a 72 and we had a 76 but was good fun and managed to nearly knock 2 cartons down by the time we finished!
If you don't like it, change it. If you don't want to change it, it can't be that bad!

Shocking SD. Played possibly the worst front nine I can remember! 7 points! Even had a fanny on the 5th after topping a drive into the hazard....

Came home with 19 points on the back 9 (39 off stick) but way too little way too late! Thankfully a few boys decided to play just as bad (or worse!) so wasnt just me who sucked.

The greens up at Echunga are 'yellows' and very 2 paced at the moment, following coring and top dressing in the last month. A bit of water into them should see them in top nick over the Chrissy break. The rough is very unforgiving at the moment, but fairways are great (when I finally found one!).

Next hit at the Pat in 3 weeks. Looking to carve that right up.

That is no good mate.
Just think that the next round won't be as bad as the one just gone. ;)

After watching the open on the weekend Im pretty pumped to get over to Melbourne for the Presidents cup.

Booked in for a round at Moonah Links, Legends Course on Thursday. Then off to the cup on Friday and Saturday, to see some of the best players in the world ply their craft in the flesh is going to be awesome.

Had a round at North Lakes on Saturday, first hit in 11 months since my knee reconstruction, and was pleasantly surprised with a few elements of my game.

My driving wasn't too bad, still have that bad slice (and when I had the confidence up on a couple of tee blocks to try and crunch it long and up the middle (ha ha !!!) the only crunching was my knee !!!

Mid irons were fine, short game is and has always been crap and putting was pretty good, although did have at least a dozen slide past the hole. Had 54 on the front 9 and then didn't really keep score on the back 9 but felt like it was another low 50's score.

Considering I probably average mid to late 90's I was reasonably happy with how I went but the body was a tad sore the next day (and still is - was getting massive cramp in the calf walking down the 16th and struggled to finish the last 2 holes !!!).

With time, hope to get out for a hit at least once a month now, see the fitness improve to see out the round and bring that score down.

Bulls is going to hate me for this but I'm playing Kooyonga again in 2 weeks ;) Hopefully the 18th is now open for play as it wasn't about a month ago when I was there for a corporate day.

Also has anyone here shopped with House of Golf? Saw a TV commercial during the open coverage and they are cheaper for Taylor Made R11 stuff than Drummond

Yup, crying about the golf, haven't played there for a while H31, had a chance a month or two ago but had to work. Go online for your golf stuff H31, difficult to beat. Enjoyed the cricket on Sat though.

As Bulls Forever said go online H31. Try 3ball, RockBottom Golf, GolfSmith and Global Golf I think. Ask your mates or put a shout out on here to share the freight costs.
As much as I try and stay in Oz for purchases it is hard to not go with the savings.
