Played Lady Bay on Saturday and Wirrina on Sunday over the weekend.

Lady Bay is brutal for a beginner like me. Lost so many balls, a couple of them I swear just rolled off the fairway but couldn't find them in the cabbage! I don't think I'll be back there for a while, not until my game is a little bit better anyway!

Wirrina yesterday was great fun. Brilliant course, really enjoyed it. The fairways got a bit wet and soggy towards the end of the day after a couple of heavy showers went though, but otherwise it was a very nice place for a round.

Had a walk around the new holes at regency park today. Got a few pics to put up soon, but all I can say is OMG!

It looks amazing, still a couple or months away from opening to the public though. But will be quite a challenge.

Think that Ashbourne is a good track for what it is. Is only 9 holes but is in good condition all year round and is in a really nice setting and is only $15 for 18 holes.

Get there by heading through Meadows and sticking to the main drag that takes you eventually onto the road to Goolwa. Is about 12km past Meadows.

Got my only hole in one there on the 3rd! Are the greens still in good nick?

I think they are although I reckon the 1st green gives the impression that they'll be slow but if you get caught above the hole on some greens look out!

In regards to Battunga, I'd heard that had been closed. Can anyone confirm?

yeah i think Battunga has been closed for a couple of years now, mainly due to not getting a lot of rain

Flying out in the morning to play in the SA Sand Green Championships at Tumby Bay.

Sort of a home course advantage as this is the course I learnt to play golf on.

Putting on the black stuff is going to be a challenge again. At least the read is going to be fairly simple..... I hope.

Can any mug go for a round there Blues? Or is it still a private course? Thinking I might do the 9 holes Sunday seeing as it's going to be a nice day.

Well, went round the 9 holes yesterday and it's a lovely little course. Fair bit of bracken around though so it's very easy to lose your ball if you shank it off the tee - as I did on several occasions.

At 10 bucks for 9 holes though, will definitely be popping out there for a hit whenever I have a couple of hours free. :D

So you can play every friday for $25 a month? That is not a bad option at all.

Good Luck

Well MT I'm back and I think I drank just as many beers as there were holes  terrific social event starting with the practice round on Friday and the 2 competition rounds over the next 2 days. The planning phase for next years event began Friday night at the pub

personally my PB stroke score for the course on Saturday of 86 which was about 10 off the lead after day 1. Went 3 worse on the Sunday. Was pipped by about a metre for the long drive on the Sunday. In the Teams event they grouped all the metro golfers in our grade and we went 2nd overall in off the stick and nett handicap  top effort by us greenies IMO. Overall winner in the A grade went 65/66 to win by 5 shots.

So to all club golfers get yourself to Kadina about this time next year and play a bit of golf country style and have a great social time as well.
