For those of you who do not get emails from Squizzys I would suggest signing up if you are in need of anything. Next week they are having a delivery free sale (not sure for how long though). They send the codes via email.

If anyone is interested, back from 9 rounds on Sunshine and Gold Coast. As a general statement, courses very wet, no run on fairways, fairway grass thining with their colder weather so the lob wedge a liability, plus weathered their coldest day in X number of years. I will give short review in order of played.

Twin Waters - stayed at Magnolia Lane at back of 9th, excellent accomodation. Course very good, some outstanding picturesque holes. 7/10
Hyatt Coolum - thought I had landed in Eutopia, treated like a Royal, played about 26 holes doubling up where we could. A must play course. 9/10
Pelican Waters - typical Normal layout, wide driving areas, very wet in parts, conditioning a bit lacking, appeared to be a course developed for big money spending and they haven't quite go it. 6/10
Noosa Springs - interesting layout, some particularly outstanding holes, however obvious they have built everything up above normal ground level, fungus in greens didn't add to experience. Would be 7, but greens brought down to 6/10.

All courses on Sunshine Coast are playable, good tests of golf, but not overly long - around 6 to 6,100 metres.

Hope Island - back to Eutopia, again treated very well, nothing too much trouble, course outstanding, not long, same as most on sunshine Coast, but good test of golf. 9/10
Palm Meadows - probably the best layout of all, but conditioning very poor, has only recently re opened after going into receivership. Greens absolute crap, give it time to see whether it returns to good condition and then well worth a round. 7/10
The Glades & Lakelands - put them both together as unable to seperate, both outstanding conditioned, the toughest of all the courses, both measuring around 6,400 metres, lots of water, but not unplayable at all, plenty of bail out areas, just means longer shots to greens. Gave both 9 1/2 out of 10.
Robina Woods - interesting layout, have heard in trouble financially and that was obvious with condition of course, first 9 very very wet under foot, no buggies on fairways at all. Back 9 opens up a bit with more water in play. Too many 350-360 metre Par 4's for me. 6/10.

If you don't have time to play 9 rounds, I would recommend leaving out the lower scoring courses and play the big boys, well worth it, costly but a once in lifetime opportunity to play them all.

Happy Golfing

We're in hell right now gentlemen. Believe me. And we can stay here, get the shit kicked out of us, or we can fight our way back into the light. We can climb outta hell... one inch at a time.

I concur and will add there was a bit if a stiff breeze about.

Possibly the best condition I have played it in green and bunker wise.

The Vines is my home course. Fairways for this time of year are in top nick. Greens were a bit soft a week or so go. Not sure what they will be like after all the rain this week. Will hopefully find out on Sunday morning, if not will probably be on Wednesday.
