Flaggy AGM last night.

The new synthetic green was $100k and didn't cost the club anything.
Still on track for a march/April open to new club house
900 members
They've decided to change the logo.
Those in attendance got a hat with the new logo, which is fairly bland.

Finished off with 34pts.

1st hole.
Took 3wood and just wanted to knock it down near the bunkers..... sliced onto the 9th
2nd - took driver, ended up in the sand on right and had no play at the green
Found 4 bunkers through the round and no issues getting out... that's a win.
If my ball had a combined further half roll would have birdied the 8th and 2 other pars....
Preferred lies in place... didn't need it.
Greens were running nicely.
Group behind were big hitters

We poured the new concrete path this week, tees moved up to allow the contractors an uninterrupted work area

They love their concrete paths at West Lakes!

Has the other renovations commenced? From memory the trees between the 1st and 9th were going to be removed?

Driver was a little better. Just narrowed stance and put on a smooth swing, not trying to smash it.
Hopefully it all comes together next week

Jumped out for a quick hit tonight at my local track.

Greens recently cored, and they certainly were not cut this morning. More hair around the hole than a 70’s porn Star.

Hit them pretty well. Draw evident with Stealth. Only problem was whenever I set up for it, I block it right!

Stupid ******* game.

Watching the pro’s Saturday, then having a hit at Crazy Sunday morning.

Royal Adelaide

Delightful summer day.

Hit a few balls on the range to gauge Driver behaviour.
Drove the ball rather well. Didn't try and smash it, just keep it in play. Did hit one slice that found GUR.
3w - used that in a few places, on 2nd shots and just trying to position the ball. Worked a treat.
Irons were OK, nothing special.
Found a few bunkers. Only 1 did I not get out of 1st time, on the 9th. 2nd chance was delicious
Wedges were good
Putting, was good. Only 1 hole was it horrible and that was the 10th. Felt slower than others.
Played in a group where one of the lads was VC of WA golf club. Plays off 4-5. We walk down the 11th and I know what he about to say that I have a good swing, nice tempo etc... I tell him I've heard it all before but what you see and what it feels are 83 different things

37pts

Crazy (Craigeburn) - Sun Dec 1st

Checked out the timesheet online mid week, and it looked very quiet. Decided I'd just rock up, and see how I got on. Pulled into carpark, bloody busy. Talking to the lad in the pro-shop, a lot of members pulled out Saturday, due to the rain, and lobbed out Sunday instead. 45 min wait to hit off, with the warning, its a full field out there it will be slow.

He was right. Got around in 4 and three quarter hours. Painfull.

Played here around 12 months ago and shot 85 or 86, so was looking forward to having another go. Bogey on the fairly easy 1st hole, was followed by another on the fairly tough 2nd hole. Was playing straight into the strongish wind. Hybrid deployed up the hill, into the wind from 165 found the green.

A bullshit double on the 3rd, with a 3 putt (greens were very slow) followed by a scrambled bogey on the par 3 4th hole. The 5th was playing down breeze from an elevated tee box. Stealth deployed, struck well, drawing to left centre of fairway. Just a flick of the 56 onto the green. Missed the bird.

Poor tee shot on 6... but scrambled another bogey. Drive on 7th, cut into the drink. ****. Good drive down 8, but a poor second, and another 3 putt for another double. 3 wood off the tee on 9, finds the fairway. But a pulled 6 iron, leads to another bogey.

Block drive on 10, but good recovery and par made. Par 3 11th, with a big cross breeze. I lay out to the right & flick the tree branches, knocks it dead. Double. OK drive on the 12th, Par 5 playing down breeze. Although I elect to punch a 4 iron down the fairway, and no go the hero shot with the 3 wood off a shit lie. 9 iron from 125, chunked. Eventually chip up close and make another bogey.

13th, long par 4, back into the wind. Good drive, but loose the 5 iron in to the right, makes for a tough up and down. Bogey. 14th mid length par 4, decent drive down the left hand side. 7 iron pulled left, chip and 2 putt.... yep another bogey. 15th, Block drive right, onto next fairway. Clear shot over the trees into the green. Blade it into the ******* trees. Triple!

16th & 17 completed with bogeys. 18th, a little downhill par 3. 105 Meters, but back into the strong wind. Wedge, finds the front of the green, and spins back off..... chip up & 2 putts. Day done.

Old farts cricket next weekend, then hope to get another couple of hits in before taking on the lad.

Vines on Sunday evening was painful, all went to shit after I had a 12 foot birdie putt on the 2nd and walked off with a double....10 points.

Go again tonight, early in the week round due to Cricket making me unavailable later on.
