You posted a photo of the scorecard!

Mates and I couldn't agree on a weekend date for our Brown Jacket Tournament, so we all agreed to take a day off next Monday and play at Willunga, forecast is 23 :)

Yeah that's my card, but did it win a ball in the comp results?

Vines tonight for a twilight back 9, started par par which was nice, hit a disappointing triple on the 17th and double on the 18th after hitting my best ever drive (140m from pin) for a 45 and 18 points. Pretty happy overall considering the lack of golf Ive played over winter, Brown Jacket at Willunga on Monday, weather is looking magnificent

You cut the corner on 18th?
That's a handy whack

Couldn't have hit it better, right at the big tree on the left and a bady fade at the end stopped it hitting the top, could have another 100 goes and never do it again. Screwed up the hole form there tho

Sat
Flaggy

4 wipes and 31pts.
2 lost balls, probably next to eachother in the trees separating 16/17.
1st was off 16th, driver had a slice.
17th same thing, found it. Hit it 5m into soursobs. Two of trampled the ground and couldn't find it yet both saw where it went  . Was only going to pick it up

Monday we ventured down to WIllunga for the 9th Brown Jacket event with 6 mates, cracking day but the wind was up so it wasn't as straight forward as we though out there. Course in pretty good nick, we noticed the preferred lie sign after the round  greens and bunkers in good condition however the fairways need some work before the pro event in October.

I ended up taking the Brown Jacket home for the first time, hit 47/16 on the front nine but came home with 42/20 on the back to win on countback with 36 points and break 90 for the first time in a while. Wasn't overly happy with my front 9 with 2 7's on the card, birdie on 5 helped steady the ship. The back 9 was just steady par or bogey golf, Driver and putter worked well, irons (apart from the wedge) were shithouse.

Ended up back at the Alma for a feed and beers, great day and has made this week nice and short at work

Flaggy
Stableford

Conditions were ominous, windy and dark.

Started off with a solid par.
Wiped the 2nd. Outside of that played ok.
Putting hurt me again

35pts

Yesterday morning went down for a hit at Adelaide golf studio on Port Rd. They have 2 trackman sim bays set up. A 3rd one on the way.
More realistic yardages then the X golf sims i found.

Mucked about with some lead tape.

My 7i has a tendency to push to the right. Added some tape to bottom of shaft and bottom of club. Results from the 9 holes at flaggy last night were positive.
Also have a 4i that just hooks, is great if need to hook around trees and punching out. Added tape to bottom to straighten it up, but now seems to leak a little right. Some tweaking needed.

Thursday twilight

Slightly twist ankle over a root on the 1st. Fairly average after that. 13pts
Drivers just slicing

Saturday.
First few holes were OK. Then twist ankle again tripping over a branch walking to my ball in trees on 10th.
16pts. Back 9 was a write off.

Sunday
Interesting start.
Took 7w off 1st tee, scared of slicing a driver into a house... pulled it left into trees. Took medicine then 7i on and 1 putt par.
2nd very poor wipe.
3rd par
4th very poor wipe
5th good 1 putt par
7th - 2 putt par
8th horrible wipe. Hitting 3rd from 130m out middle of fairway

The highlight was on 14th par 3. Pulled 7w left under trees over the path but green high. Get in and fight with branches, get the PW and just wanted to hit it hard to get it out. Contact was successful. I climb out, expect the ball to be through the other side of green or bunker, but somehow it's ended up doing some sort of u turn and ended up a bees dick away...

30pts but wiped 4 holes but did hole some decent length putts. Golf....

Saturday
Stableford

Interesting weather conditions.
Driver was horrid.
Bunker play was solid.
Putting ok
Irons ordinary - working on a new swing process.
26pts

This morning
Milder conditions
The $8 5w got a recall for September action.
Used the 5w exclusively off the tee, aside from 3 par 3s.
User error caused poor results on 4 holes. But for the most part it worked a treat. Even on 2nd shots it was more than handy.
Irons rubbish.
Putting disgusting.
Driver stayed in the bag.
On a few holes the 5wood ended up where my Driver would.

Had a hit today. First game since April. Played Yarrambat with a mate.

Decided we would just make it a casual round, didn’t keep scores as such. I was really just interested to see if I could make a few pars.

A bit breezy and the greens were actually quite quick.

Drove the ball well at times. Irons ok, chipping not too bad. Putting was well off. Basically 3 putted everything.

Pulled the pin after 15 holes. Was a bit slow, and the wind was bloody cold.

Not 1 par for the day. But 2 birdies, only greens I 1 putted on.

Ringwood next Sunday.

Played in 2 man ambrose at willunga.
We played off 8.5.

Started on 10.
My first drive with the driver at 9° and it just popped up off the toe onto 18th... went about 150m. The swing just felt very ordinary.
Redeemed myself with the 7w from 134m rattling the flag.

We weren't great off the tee. But the scrambling game was pretty good.
I sunk a few decent putts which I was happy with.
Misread a few greens, as per normal
Showers passed through, and rain jacket was on off on off on off on off on off all day long
Condition of the course, it's definitely the best value course in the area.

We ended up 64.5 I think.
We both lamented, what could have been.
