Luck. Report in triplicate please.

So I finally got out. \:D/
Here is what I thought of the vision golf balls:
I started at the chipping green with the X3,gel,arctic, pinkie gel and UV. Surprised at the consistency in results despite the difference all 5 balls felt like coming off the club face. The Gel felt extremely soft of the face, with higher launch than all the others. UV felt hardest but the results were impressive (the ball was stopping withing 3 foot of where is was landing). My personal favourite around the green was the UV (all of these balls were coming in from 70-100m)

Then just off the fringe and around the green, the feel and control of all the balls was amazing. Nice release off the club face.

Had a putt with the UV and arctic, not sure if was me or the ball but the UV seemed to have very good distance control, certainly could feel the ball on the putter well. The impression I got was that the ball wanted to roll out. The brightness of the cover may be a factor with helping to keep my eyes on the ball through my stroke. Next step to get out on the course for a few practice holes and compare with the full range of shots. Looking forward to it.
I will have another report after I get out for nine with them.

Also not sure if I said what I got in the original pack I ordered? For $45 (including free delivery) I received the following:
1 doz UV's
1 doz mixed balls (pinkie gel, arctic and UV's
1 Hat
1 Glove
2 magnetic ball markers with hat clip
assorted tees
pencil
and a towel
From what I have read Boz is putting all sorts of delightful things in when you order his balls.

sounds positive and ya did mention the other items in the pack - which if it turns out no good - just repackage and give it away at x-mas time

i like the idea of the ball slamming on the brakes as soon as it hits the deck, mine just keep running :?

Never played Willunga, but surely the drive would be worthwhile rather than play the Park.

Anyone have the Balls to venture out on to the Greens today like I did ?

Should have turned around and went back home after waiting 5 minutes in the car park for a heavy shower to pass.

On a positive note I decided to shell out $600 for a new Taylor Made iron set on Saturday Morning. Got them off Drummond Golf as part of their Masters Sale and pick them up Wednesday after my customised modifications are done. Just hope the weather is better next week to try them out in real time instead of the computer program in the store :D

Now to start saving the coins for the woods and driver to match

Not since before Christmas, but the course has been pretty consistent over the last few years. I'd imagine now would be great given there's been no water issues at all recently.

Only thing I really dislike about it is all the greens and tee off areas being so close in a couple of areas.

Am a member there so a bit biased. Course is in top nick, fairways are well grassed and have some roll in them.
Greens have being a bit inconsistent but were bloody quick last Thursday for the pro-am held there.

As Pottsy said, no water issues at the course now due to the drain project the club implemented where they can source water from the Happy Valley creek.

H31, don't buy off the shops, got to rockbottomgolf online. You can get some very good specials on there from the USA and they are delivered in 5-6 days, you can track them online, a few friends have got some excellent deals, albeit last years model from there, but still brand new. A mate bought a set of Adams Golf hybrid/irons for just under 200, 60 bucks delivery, last years model and the current model the shops sell for 900 and tell you it is a good deal. Have a look anyway.

Course has improved 1000% over the years. Is worth a visit these days, in the past you only went there when you had to, ie Pennant / Vardon, free drink, you get my drift.

H31, unfortunately yes, doubled the second and it went down hill from there. Got a tad wet up here in the foothills as well, fortunately course a lot better with drainage these days, so feet about the only thing dry at the end of the day.

Well brand new when the were the current model that were around the $700-$800 mark anyway.

I find the postage is often the killer with Rockbottom. I have bought a dozen boxes of Srixon Golf Balls and my glove supply for the next 2 years from there. Also bought a Wilson Staff Driver for $90 plus a carry bag that I use on golfing trips for around $100. I agree that there are good deals from there but as I found out I need some custom modifications to my clubs.

For example the standard Callaway shaft length is too short for my build, therefore I can't use Callaway straight of the shelf. Didn't know what sort of stiffness I required too, turns out I need regular flex. In the Degree wedges there is no standard shaft length for my height. From now on I must have it lengthened to suit me properly and possibly the biggest tip I wish I knew earlier is that I need non standard grips on my clubs. I pointed this out to the bloke in the shop that I have to have extra grips on my cricket bats and he said the same principle applies here also.

I also like to be able to hit a few balls with them before I buy much like how I bounce a cricket ball on the blade before buying one.
