Yep, a group of us heading out for our regular game at Echunga Sunday morning. Looking forward to it a lot. A great course that I could play all day (and with my iron play at the moment, that is a real possibility).

Echunga in very good order this morning, the four of us all very close with final scores. The driver was working fine, and the putter on fire, but some sloppy iron play mucked up what could have been a pretty good score. The course itself in very good condition, apart from a bit too much grey sand surrounding the 18th, but overall, excellent.
Can you guess where I'm calling from, the Las Vegas Hilton...

Not much vision in my golf SD, stand up, hit it, walk a bit (hopefully) and hit it again. And they reckon it is a tough game, don't buy it myself. Do tell, WTF is it.

The Gully was its normal self this morning, unforgiving, didn't need a hat, the trees provided plenty of shade. Greens very slow, but the 19th played very well.

Heading out to the Gully this arvo. Greens will be slower again being a public holiday.
Had 42 points on Saturday, be interesting to see how I go today.
For every one I miss I am closer to a hole in one.

Went to Koo......(no I didn't Bulls ;) ) Just played Riverside and finished with 39 Points. Could have been 40+ if I didn't fall in a hole coming home started on fire even with the card after 4 and 1 over after 6 went a little pear shaped after that though

The 3 new greens starting to settle in nicely now and gain some normal pace in them. Club House renovations well under way and Only thing I wish they would fix next is the inconsistencies of the sand in the bunkers. Each bunker is bloody different  No wonder every one has trouble getting out of the pr**ks

H31, my usual playing partners played there a couple of weeks ago and most impressed with the improvements and the new lay out. Drove past it the other day and huge mounds around the bottom corner of the course, looked like they have changed the 17th as well. Will have to make use of the advantage card and head down there for a game cause they are not easily pleased.

I haven't played there in some time, always thought it was very one dimensional, up / back, up / back, if you get my drift and on a lot of those holes you could just about hit it anywhere. But now definately on the "bucket list".

I think most clubs have the bunker issues, up our way caused by watering and gully breezes. I keep on telling playing partners there is not much they can do about that, but what I would like, is where the members keep on raking back to the entrance to the bunker, to actually flatten the things out, keep on getting down hill lies.

Vision Golf is a new brand of ball that has been big(ish) in the overseas market and the creator has now bought it to Australia.
I have purchased some balls from him to try them out and there is a very nice little bonus with new (1st time) orders.
website is here - http://www.visiongolfball.com/. I should receive it all this week. Will let you know what they are like.

I am interested to see how they go. I received the pack in the post today (ordered fri am) and for $45 I got 18 balls (12 of one and then 6 others. one of each of their range), a hat, glove, 6 tees, pencil and hat clip and 2 ball markers.
Stay tuned for my review.

not a bad price, hopefully the other accessories arent just a cheap bag filler

more importantly hopefully the balls work a treat, good that you get some of the different types as well

the only thing that i can see a problem from is the glove. it doesn't have much padding over the palm. the hat feels like very good quality, as with the ball marker and clip.
fingers crossed about the balls.

now you just need to get to the golf clearance warehouse on south rd, or drummonds, petes and finish off the outfit with a golf vest, shirts and even shorts or pants and at least look like a professional

well if you give a positive review about the balls I may look into getting that pack

and if not for me it sounds reasonable value to use a prezzie at x-mas time or birthdays

Give us a PM when you head down and I might be able to Chauffeur you around, the back nine is a bit up and back but 17 and 18 have generated many comments from people who have played there for years and 17 is only to get more challenging if they ever get SA Water to play ball with the stormwater ponds that are proposed between the fairway and Frederick Rd.

My Gripe with bunkers is that every bunker has a different type of sand in it. Some fluffy beach sand, others coarse river sand etc. Some of them are not helped by poor drainage either. Kooey has consistent sand throughout the 18 and IMO the course would be better for it if each bunker was similar.

Was up at Pt Hughes last weekend and went out to check The Dunes progress, looking good and not far from playing the first 9 holes. This I think is going to be the 2nd hole, looks like a classic 280-300m par 4 which will be driveable with the sea breeze but as you can see plenty of hazards, the little mound you can see at the back is a pot bunker in the middle of a dual green, never seen that before. Overall looks like your classic links course

I really wish I have been able to give them a run. Was meant to go out Sunday but daughter was sick and meant to go for 9 holes tonight but I don't think that will be happening :(
I will endeavour to get out ASAP and then report back.

BP, the best news would have been his surgery is going to improve your golf game considerably. I had a knee op some time ago and when the surgeon said get walking as soon as, I played golf every day for 4 weeks, with a limp of course, but excellent rehab. Good luck on your recovery. Which course will you be gracing in your comeback.
