Well- we played Echunga on Sunday- teed off at 8am so missed most of the heat. A good 5 degrees cooler up there at least (Still far king hot!)

Hit 35 points, no too bad, chipped and putted well. Driving OK, but approach shots were terrible, reakon I had 1 birdie putt all day (which I bloused short!). Course in good nick, always great value ($20 or $10 if you have an entertainment book ;) )

Playing in the Group 4 Victor Harbor Stableford Comp this Sunday. Cmon you Cove boys!

Just walked in the door from playing Kooyonga again for the 2nd time in 3 months. This place is quickly becoming my favourite course, green speed is consistent throughout 18 holes, fantastic layout and condition.

Finished the day with 35 points including 4 scrubs heading out but got my shite together going home including a birdie at the 18th. Also backed up double pars at the 14th and 15th par 3's to prove that me doing it first time around was no fluke.

Those who have golf link cards keep an eye out for the next open day as its only $60 to play (half price of green fee)

Heat, you pr..k, that is my absolute favourite. Had to play Blackwood today as The Gully was closed due to the Vardon event. Course in top nick, had a few putting issues, greens that much different to the Gully and lot quicker at the moment. In the end happy with Net 77 considering my handicap was gone after 5 holes. Hadn't played there for 10 years and couldn't remember where to hit the tee shots on the dog leg holes, hence spent too much time in the shade.

I actually had someone from the Gully in my group and he even knew by boss from work who plays there also.

Our round of the Vardon is on the 6th of March, I might get me self sorted with a current club advantage card and venture up your way...

Easy to get, just sign in the office and away you go. Good value really if you like travelling a bit. Only got home about 1 hour and a bit later than normal from the morning round.

Not that it seems many of u guys like to slum it on the public courses ;) ... but starting next week Regency Park GC will be down to 6 holes.. The South Road super dooper bridge thingy means that the 6th, 7th & 8th holes will be dug up and reconfigured..

Who knows how long til its back to a proper 9 hole course again

i like willunga, although its fairly short it does force you to play straight

I dont particularly like the hole that is guarded by the huge water

LOL- used to play a lot there in my high school days. The old 'honesty' system used to cop a battering in those days!!

yeah i got out. my wife took a bit longer with her sister than what i thought they would (she got married saturday), so i only got to go to thaxted park.
i played there in january and shot 116 and then friday i played out of my skin. missed 3 fir's and shot a 92. my driving was amazing but, my putting was atrocious. i really need to get out on the green more for some practice. i could have come home below par but alas, it wasnt meant to be.
how about you MT?

Played the Pat on Sunday- par round.

Course in good nick, but divots apparently dont have to be repaired on the greens! You do wear that on a public course I guess. Also cant help but think $30 is still a bit steep until all of the upgrades/repairs are done. And unless they make some changes to the tee times then be prepared for some massive delays. At 10.00 the first tee was already 45 minutes behind- not good enough, particularly when you have been booked for 12 months in advance! Moe can you swing some of your influence to the pro shop? :)

Personally had a belter, hit a +8! 76 off the stick- my best round for at least a couple of years. Drove really well, but this time hit the greens and sunk a couple of good putts. Also holed out of a bunker on the third (one bounce and swish) which helped no end.

Next game in 2 weeks at Lady Bay. Anyone been there recently? Condition?

A mate of mine was at the Lady 3 weeks ago and he said it seemed to play a lot longer than what it has previously. but other than that with the rain we have had he said greens were nice and everything was very, very green.
Hoping to do some twilight golfing next thursday at one of the north adelaide courses with a mate from work.
