Played at South Lakes on Sunday. Cool breeze, Greens cored and sanded.......disaster loomed.....

Proceeded to play my best round in 2 years. 43 points, 76 off the stick. Thank you very much.

Kudos to the course for cutting the price of green fees due to the topdressing. More courses should do this IMO.

That is good by the course.

I'm going to get a sneaky 9 in after work today. Should be a nice afternoon for it.

Shot 92. No good think I finished 3rd overall in the B grade.

82,88,84 and 92.

I'll be happy just to get my game to a point where 92 is a bad score

Saying that tho Benny, Mawson lakes is only a slope rating of 113 when I play at my step fathers course (Links Lady Bay) I'm consistanly high 90's mate.
Having said that I Have shot below 90 there a few times before but it's rare.

Tough course 142 slope rating I believe, Hardest course to par in South Australia so I'm told.

What's your opinion of the course at Mawson Lakes carey? Played there 6-8 weeks ago with the view of possibly joining. Left a bit to be desired IMO.

About 3 weeks ago mate, The greens were top dressed and I think cored??? They are in fantastic condition now. The 2nd/11th fairway just got relayed also which is a huge improvement. So in summary it would've improved a lot since you played. It also has it's own water allocation now and not governed by UNI SA.

It's never going to be on any greats list but, For location and price of membership it's perfect for me. Literally 2 mins from my house and 5mins from my work. There's never a wait like regancy.

I can only advise to maybe go have another hit in the next week or so as ATM it's in very good condition.

$10 for 9 after 5pm Fridays at North Haven and the pro shop was locked and empty by 6pm.

So played my 9 for 45 then played another 5 for 4+ over those holes.

Not great, but had a 9 after going jungle on one par 4. Uuurgh

It was indeed. Pretty poor off the tee, good fairway ( when on it ) to green and putted poo. Greens were very, very slow and I couldn't read them.

A group of 5 let me play through them on the 158m par 3 3rd. They'd all teed off so no pressure, 5 blokes watching, I hit a 7 iron pin high about 4-5m from the flag and proceed to 3 putt for bogey.

I got my first beer out of the bag then.

Kudos to the group of lads teeing off just as I finished.

All in footy shorts and thongs ( a couple with runners on ) and one bloke on esky duties. He was dragging a little gardening trailer with an esky in it.

Played @ Regency yesterday and shot 50. Really stuffed up badly with 8-9 shots so some room for improvement when I go back with some mates tomorrow.

Value for money good course. Same price as Marion but in far better condition.

Could be heading back to Perth in a week for 3 weeks before Xmas. Reckon Joondalup will be getting a flogging whilst over there.....

That includes membership to the club itself too, if you don't play Saturday morning comps, enquire at the pro shop about a season ticket. That gets you unlimited golf pretty much 6.5 days a week.
