Except if you hit it a bit long.

I'm sure there is less swearing in the pro crowds.

i like heavy greens, great for attacking the pin

The greens were pretty good and I putted like a demon. Missed two from inside a metre and three putted once but rest were either one or two strokes. Lost a ball FFS. Don't care about the ball it's the penalty shot that irks me.
Unfortunately I had a nine, two eights and a seven in my round so the score was shite. Enjoyable though.

Have played there about 20 times. I find the greens difficult to read, but being ambrose you will get a couple of looks. Plenty of trees and quite tight fairways. I quite like it but i didnt the first couple times i played there.

Even with the 3 reads I'll still miss them  Looking forward to playing a different course, and a course that looks nice from the pictures I have seen.

I go by the theory if you can't read a green, hit it straight. Better than going completely the wrong way. Haha

I'd kill to get the secret of holing a deadly downhill putt. Uphill not a prob but going down the slippery slope is a nightmare. The ninth green at Pt Augusta is a horror show if you land at the back on the high side and the pin is forward where there is a drop of about a metre or two. Misread it and you will almost need a wedge to come back

One thing I do for slick downhillers is use the toe of the putter so it doesnt come off the middle, means you can do a more solid swing and not be as tentative.

barossa(nuriootpa) is a favourite course of mine, always in top nick. greens are usually pretty slick without being too quick. good value and worth the drive. played kapunda a month or so back and it is a hidden gem of a 9 hole course. 18 tee blocks which change holes completely. 9/18 is a 280m par 4 first time round from the back block then a 150 metre par 3 second time round. also a lovely par 3 over a large lake which would have many golfers concerned.

Played The Dunes on Sat and is still in great nick, greens are flawless.

After being 6 over after 3 holes ended up recovering to shoot 90 which wasnt too bad.

Was it windy? I've played there twice and once it was seemingly still in Moonta, yet The Dunes was blowing a gale. Haha.

I think the local council has taken ownership of the Dunes now, after the developers ran out of cash and couldn't water the fairways.

They were dry and hard but have since recovered well I hear. The greens have always been super quick and immaculate though.

I think they would just about be the best in the state.

Played Barossa (near Nuri) on Sunday. Warm conditions but it kept a lot of people off course, which is always good when you're spraying them off the tee as I was. Haha.

Had 103. Considering the way I hit them off the tee, was not unhappy with the result. Greens were moderately paced and consistent. The price was pretty good (I think about $27 for 18 holes).

Im not a smart man but why do theses developers think that they are on to a winning idea when every other similar project in SA has failed eg: Wirrina, Lady bay and to a lesser extent Mc Craken
