If all this is true I feel great as a long handicap scrubber who can break the ton on any given day. Eminently achievable when I put my head down.

Well given that at my club we would have at least double the amount of C graders (handicap 20+ ) than A graders (less than 12).

The key to lowering that handicap is to play and practice regularly and if you can play with lower handicappers than you and you can learn off them. My next aim is to regularly shoot low 80's and eliminate the outliers of high 90/low 100's

My ambition is to play off 18. I reckon a shot a hole is tidy golf so that is where I am aiming for. My short game costs me big time so that's what I am trying to improve.

I'm almost at that point. Another tip I have discovered is not to over hit the ball. Nice easy swings as when you try to whack the cover off the ball is when it usually sprays all over the place.

oh yeah mate I have been on Revolution Golf since I started playing in January. Some of their stuff is awesome. I haben't been sucked in by multi millionaire owner Justin Tipper to part with any cash though! I just suck up the free video they send you every day and ignore the requests to pay. Works a treat

I play off 18, was at 16 and probs play to 19-20 most weeks, is not a bad handicap, ideally I would like to get down to a single figure or low teens (11-12) but like Heater said, all comes down to practice, summer is when I play my best golf as I play 3-4 times a week.

My eldest son is off scratch at Pymble. It's awesome to play with him and just watch in amazement at how far he can hit the ball.

For me its the control of the ball they have. Distance wise when I get it right I'm only 20 odd metres behind them or use a 7 iron in a par 3 opposed to their 8 iron.

But single figure handicap golfers can hit a green from 160 and get it to stop. Now that is good golf.

spot on, its all about control. When I played in the pro am, I out drove the 2 pro's on 1 hole and hit same distances as them pretty regularly, thing was the other holes there ball was smack on the fairway while mine was a fairway over or just in the tree line.

I think low or scratch golfers its there chipping and putting which makes them miles better then us mid handicap golfers, and there ability to practice while we all sit at work.

I was reading a article in a golf mag at doctors monday, it had 6 tips to get you to hit 80, they were hitting consistent distance and close with ya short irons, chipping and putting. Also said you need to be able to practice for 2hrs a week, thats not play but practice specificly one a skill you want to improve!

Another crap sunday on the course!
Was a great day for a hit but simply I stink at the moment. Probs would have done alright if it was stableford but was par on weekend.
Whether I play this sunday will depend if our A's win or not. If its a loss then its silly Sunday time at the club, lets hope im having a hit sunday morning.

I had an alright weekend, picked up 4 golf balls on the Saturday including a NTP.

Pretty chuffed at the NTP as I play early on Saturday mornings and was the 3rd group of the day to pass through the 16th at West Lakes, got it to within 1.5m and nobody could get near it for the rest of the day :)

Backed it up on Sunday with +1, had to fight back after 15 holes though as I was -1 after being +2 at the turn  . Should pick up at least a ball for that effort as well.

Last weekend capped off a good lead up the state sand green championships in Kadina this weekend. Plenty of beers and some golf with some real country characters makes a good weekend no matter how bad you are playing. Main aim is to avoid the early hit off on the Sunday. With a seeded draw it means I have to be at worst midfield or be a leader after 18 holes.

Sounds like a good weekend on the course, surely its only a matter of time before I have a decent round. Ive been growing a beard last 8-9 weeks and I reckon that has to be why Im playing horrible golf, cant think of any other reason :?
May have to cut it off if another bad round and hope thats the cause of it all.

What handicap you playing off atm?

20. Held 19 for a couple of months then blew out to 21 for 1 round. Want to get back down so then I can make some serious in roads to the B grade.

I should be back around 19 after the weekend as on sand greens I shoot low 80 to mid 80 on average.

LOL- I got my best ever score after shaving my head years ago (a lazy 57 at the Pat par 60). Could be worth a crack!

Well I'm back and alive.

Kadina Golf Course if you are in the area take a bloody chainsaw Trees

Saturday was a disaster especially the back 9. Round 1 an even 100  (on First sight of the course stumbling across danger at every turn) which put me well out of contention and in some serious danger of the dreaded early Sunday tee off. Avoided the first group but was about the 4th group of the tee on the Sunday.

Round 2 was much better with an 88 and the Day 2 Nett winner for my trouble. Also jagged the Teams nett event with 4 other metro golfers

Nice job heater- good bounce back!

I played at Willunga on Sunday

Course- a bit muddy but overall not bad condition. Greens slowish but not bad.

Golf- Erratic. Driving OK, putting solid....and irons/approach shots WOEFUL. Ended up with a 29 pointer (89 off stick).

Know what I'll be spending the mt79 2 hour regimen on...
