So, we were at Lake Bonney for the weekend for the Mr’s friend’s 40th and I took the clubs along to sneak a round in at Barmera.

I could not believe the condition of the course. Like most golf courses around the place the rain last week would have helped no end, however that would’ve had little to do with the condition of the greens, they were absolutely unreal. Easily the best regional greens I’ve ever seen. It was $30 to play in the comp as well, which is unreal value.

I was as hungover as ten men, which certainly didn’t help, and I was watching the horse racing while I was out there, so my mind wasn’t totally in it, but still managed to finish with an 84.

The members were very welcoming, and we sat around and had a few beers after the round. I’d highly recommend it, I’ll definitely be going back. In fact, I’m planning to take our golf trip there this year.

GL out there MT, keen to see how you go, fairways are as close to the Big 4 quality Ive ever seen, notice the other night they are starting to shape them even thinner to have more rough - which I actually like as some good shots shoot thru to the trees too easily if the rough isn't let to grow.

why are you thinking of leaving if the course is in such good condition? just a change of scenery?

Just looking at options, mainly for the non members in our group. We will probably end up staying, I like the vines but imo Flaggy and Blackwood are more interesting layouts.
