My handicap is going the other way at the moment. rounds 20, 19 and 18 were 41pts, 38pts and 40pts so i can see why.

I'm soft capped now.

Actually, felt I played really well on Saturday but only managed 33 points. Putting let me down a little bit.
you've gota keep on keep'n on .........

37pts today.

Couldn't be bothered with 37 points  wish I had that problem!

Playing shocking atm, haven't scored over 15 pts in my last 5 9 hole rounds, seem to be able to get some par's but the bogeys are now doubles or triples!

Played Front 9 with the lad at Flaggy this arvo, been a while, good set up there now, golf crap...8 points

1st a high slice into the houses
2nd bladed my bunker shot
4th birdie putt, walk off with a 7
7th 2 balls at bottom of dam
8th hit first fairway of the day, still record an 8
9th hit green and make par, only highlight

Greens a bit slower and don't move as much as the Vines but in good nick. Need some work on the tee boxes though

Greens have taken a little longer to recover from coring. Still holes out there making it feel like pinballing.

Start on 10

Started with an easy par.
Doubled the 11th... found front left bunker and then sent it top of the hill under a tree
Ended up 5 over front 9.
Respectable after finding a few other awkward spots.

Get onto the 1st and hit a nice drive down the left, bounces left. Get there and its behind a tree. So chop out.
Then tried to run a 6i to the green from left rough, straight into the bunker. Ffs unraked and what was raked they left 2 long high mounds of sand.
No real option but to chip back on fairway and it goes 60m  the 9i chip n run back was elite. 8.

Followed by a poor 6.

Had 2 pars in a row 3,4.
Unforced error 5 - bogey.
6 very good par.
7 double - found the bunker on left. Took putter and so close to it being exceptional, rolled back into swale.
8 easy par
9 bogey.

86, nett 76.

Theres no way on earth i should be a 10 off the blues

5.5 hour round killed me, just brutally slow. We were off fairly early too ( 7:30 ), 2 groups on nearly every tee block.

9.59 here.
Also 5.5hrs
On the 6th group behind us were flapping arms like pelicans

Then when they got to the green they saw us waiting as group in front were halfway through tee shots and his shoulders and head just dropped
Then clearly didnt pay attention to temp holes on 9th

Crap, 26 or something, nothing but pars and pickups. Only reason i submitted the card was if I held onto the NTP on 12. Mates who teed off at 11:30 said I still had it when they went through so fingers crossed.

Saturday - Xmas Ambrose.

Our group made up of 5 handicapper, a 12, myself 17 & a lady on 54. We shot 7 under (66) with a handicap of 11. something or other. I thought that was decent score. Didn't even run a place!

Personally struggled off the tee, hit some ok irons, but putted very well.

Sunday - Par

Played with a bloke about my age (turns out he is also an ex Adelaide guy, and past member at Grange) and his 2 sons.

Halved the first 4 holes, should have pared 2 of them, but didn't. Then scrubbed 4 in a row, before halving the 9th.

The back 9 not much better. Driver a bit better than Saturday, but not much else going right. The last 3 holes a real struggle as "golf fatigue" set in.

2 days in a row, been 10 years since I have done that, and it showed!

Finished 10 down -

Struggling, and lost all confidence with long irons - 3 and 4 in particular. Years ago the 4 iron was the go to club when in strife.....

Time to look at taking 3 iron out & replacing with a 20 degree hybrid I think.

Google research incoming!
