Strange arrests....

Berri police arrested a 37 year old woman at the Riverland plaza yesterday for stealing rolls of toilet paper from public toilets.

She was bailed to appear in court at a later date.

Arrested for stealing toilet paper?????
Bailed??? How much bail did she have to pay for stealing toilet paper???

Bail was a can of glen 20 and a toilet duck.

Seriously though, someone who has done this is obviously in need of assistance and not punishment - probably one of the more depressingly desparate crimes I have ever heard of.

Sjab - that's clearly toilet humour.

And Smac - I agree with you. I can't believe she was arrested and bailed.

Especially considering the quality of public toilet paper.

Hadn't even contemplated that aspect. Never stinge on the poo tickets, got to be quality in that department.

I hate it when they stock that really smooth, non-absorbant type stuff that you have to scrunch to get any traction. You could carry a goldfish around in a bag made of that type of toilet paper, and the little bugger would have no worries of any water escaping. What is it with that stuff anyway? A deliberate ploy to discourage people using public toilets?

I've been reliably informed by someone in my office that the Riverland Plaza toilet paper is very rough.

Maybe she needed to do some sanding at home - tidy up the windows perhaps?

A former acquaintance of mine - who was renowned for his niggardly behaviour - would steal dunny paper from his workplace. Not only that, he'd keep it in his room to prevent his housemates from using it.

Tight as a duck's clacker...

I used to stock good quality triple ply for the loos at our business, but it used to be stolen at an amazing rate. I reckon more left in people's handbags than ever got used on the premises, and though it sounds trivial, it adds up to significant money over time. In the end I had to put in those crummy sheet dispenser things, but they paid for themselves very quickly.

A guy from work got sacked last year from getting caught stealing 1 roll of dunny paper and a 600ml of milk.
