Next to the old St.Moritz ice rink in St.Kilda was a venue which went under various names including Kingston Rock,The Venue & Earl's Court.
I snuck into the place when I was 16 to see Cold Chisel after they had released
'Breakfast At Sweethearts'.

My work on Pulteney street was a pub pre 91, sommerset (i think)

Mansions is still known for cheap drinks, but they are more like $4-$6 not 5c. :(
Richmond is now just the pit stop between Hindley and Rundle.
Village Tavern, still going strong, good for a cheap quiet local night.
The Office (for after work)
The Stag (going there tomorrow night, $35 free drinks card on fridays)

Most of my old haunts have been mentioned already (McMahons, Village, Big Ticket).

Tuesday night in the Kent Town Beer Garden in the early to mid 90's was the place to be.

Used to catch the courtesy bus between The Tunnel (where Rod Jameson introduced me to CC, Rasperry and Lemonade) and Mansions where the regulars used to call me "Melissa" (as in Read my Lips)

Jules, Berkeley and the Party Bar (used to work there) We weren't allowed to go to the Big Ticket (but did), if we got caught, we got sacked!

Upstairs at Joplins was a religious Saturday night haunt for a year or two

Now I'm just past it, I might go to the Highlander on the very odd Saturday if there is a decent band playing, only because Its staggering distance home...

Yeah I was at the Silverchair night at Lennies, got so pissed on Tequila that night in that bar which people used to gather in before main door opened. Don't remember them on stage but mates I was with that night said I did a massive stage dive into the crowd.

On the last weekend of Lennies we stayed across the road. The Satnite is a real blur I drank almost 2 bottles of white sambucca before it opened, all I rember of that night is jumping the queue and being first in door. Also dancng (standing) on some black box. The Sunday was interesting with free beer!! I was abit crook though so only had a few. Ahh the only place I have been to that serve pi$$ed people by the jug. Damm I never got a t-shirt. :(

The place your thinking of next to Shenads was the Zanzibar. Went there many times, NYE 2000 cost a small fortune (over $50 entry prepaid) and disappointed. I think they ended up opening door for free as not many ppl paid upfront.

Those spiral staircases used to hurt when bouncers dragged you out.
