Ultimatums

Postby OhMyHat » Thu Dec 01, 2005 1:42 pm

At the risk of leaving myself open to god knows what, I was given a pretty hefty ultimatum last night which has left me feeling a little fragile. Said ultimatum was basically 'Put out or get out'. There's a long story behind this, but to cut it short the guy in question was 41 (20 odd year age gap is waaay off limits for me, wouldnt touch it with a 50ft barge pole sort of stuff). So I left, and now what I was working towards is pretty much shattered (like I said, long story).

So I want to know, have you given any ultimatums or been on the recieving end of one? Which option did you choose and how has it affected you today?

Definately no trolling involved here mick

I'd say **** him personally .. If you jump to his call then you will always have to for fear of him walking .. Square Pegs aren't meant to fit in round holes (possibly a poor analogy but ya get my drift, ie. sometimes things are meant to be), you know what you want out of life and I'm sure it's not just one person that can offer it to you!

I agree with the che sera sera comment, just a shame that most don't have that philosiphy. You know that 'people' who use terms like "make it work" are manipulators because if it is meant to be, you won't have to "make it work".

Find someone your own age, don't be part of an aging male's ego trip! That's advice from one who's turning 50 tomorrow. :D

Thanks for the advice guys (and girl). Just wanted to hear other peoples' thoughts but you all backed up what I was thinking anyway.

What happens happens. I was working with this guy for a business reason, he wanted more than I was willing to give and it was either shape up or ship out. I shipped out - as much as this business partnership would have made my dreams come true I'm just not the kind of person to put myself through that sort of bullshit.

Hooray for Mr MK!

On a serious note, the way you feel about yourself is rather important. You can sleep at night knowing your integrity and self worth are intact. Good decision.
