RIP Sheik Yerbouti

Had the sad news today that my good mate of many years Peter "Holly" Hollitt passed away last night of a heart attack. On here he was known as Sheik Yerbouti and posted as recently as Saturday, he was a big North Adelaide and Brisbane fan and was a typical Aussie who loved a punt, beer and a smoke.
I was just chatting to him yesterday at the footy as I did most weeks.
Absolutely devestating.
RIP old mate.

NO! :(

Holly had a heart of gold, loved banter but one of the nicest blokes around.

He built my back yard and will forever look upon it with fondness to remember him.

North need to stop making Grand Finals, it doesn't bode well for groggies. :(

Gobsmacked.

In the early days of internet football sites (FootySA.com, anyone?) Holly was among the first opposition supporters I met in the flesh. A nicer bloke you could not hope to meet. Once or twice I went to Prospect on my lonesome (before the days the Snouts began congregating near the RSL) and I stood up near the Taj - Holly would always say g'day and have some banter. He had respect for all teams and their fans. If anyone up that end got a bit too "rowdy" towards the visitors then Holly would pull them in to line quick smart.

RIP fella. Taken far too soon.

What Pseudo said, whilst I barely knew him he was one of the universal good blokes on the Footy Webs (SA style). Absolute respect to his family and the Groggies on this passing. I know what BPBRB/Drebin ;) and he are doing Sunday week.

Right, I'm on the North bandwagon now for the next two weeks.

Just read the news on Punks FB page, shocked and saddened to hear it. Thoughts with his family and mates and all the NAFC/GS community :(

Terribly sad news. Pete worked a couple of times at my place and we shared some funny messages about all things footy. Condolences to everyone who had the good fortune of sharing a friendship with him.

Horrible :(

Had some great chats with him about punting over the years. Condolences to those close to him.

ironically his annual AFL Finals system bet (week 2 of the finals, a multi of the 2 teams that lost in week 1) is this weekend.

Richmond/Geelong multi will be a certainty this weekend, he probably already had put the bet on himself.

RIP Sheik

Rest In Peace. Terrible news - always was my favourite username on here after I worked out what it actually said.

Condolences to his family and friends, my thoughts are with you.

Safooty is a poorer place without his contributions. :(

Truly shattered, devastated and upset, I know you North guys knew him better than I did so I can only imagine how you guys are feeling.

As an Eagles supporter, I hope North get the job done for him.

RIP Pete

Still devastated and will be for a long time. This one really hurts. Football really does seem irrelevant despite him having a great day yesterday. Surreal we were drinking and laughing away hours before he passed

Even when my wife started coming to the footy 3 years ago he was the first to make her feel welcome, he was always the first person to ask people how their kids were going.

I'm an absolute mess atm, loved the guy to bits.

While nowhere near as close to him as you mate this has rocked me a bit, the "won't meet a nicer bloke" gets used a lot, geez it's true here.
