silly idea, because it would take forever, but would he be well enough to hire a car and drive back LM?

although it may be quicker to wait it out till he is cleared to fly, im just trying to think of alternatives.

Bloody oath.
Surely the school has insurance here?

Fingers crossed for him mate, hopefully he’s better and home soon.

Apparently not, speaking to a mum here who required her son to be rescued from the ocean she got charged $55K for the rescue, had travel insurance but they are refusing to foot the bill.

Cheers.

jeebus. whats the point in travel insurance then?

if i got handed a 55k bill theres no way i could just find that sort of money.

if theres anything that we may be able to help with LM just let us know.

Can’t, the most amount of antibiotics they can give him is a 24 hour dosage, looking at a 30 hour non-stop drive.
They’re not concerned about the flight, it’s in case something goes wrong with no doctor or medical facilities available it seems.

How long does it all last? Is he showing signs of improvement?

His numbers are going great, he’s very lethargic from the treatment, has no appetite and his balance is shot but he’s been quite chatty and generally upbeat.

There is no immediate time frames, he has another 6 and a bit weeks of treatment, the last few can be done with a daily visit from a nurse if all is going well, where the time is spent in hospital is still anyone’s guess.

We just wanna get home, can’t even begin to explain the feeling mate.

The support we have been given from all abroad has been very overwhelming, real lump in your throat sort of stuff, it’s been A very emotional time.

All the best LM, while at the moment sucks, at the end of the day you just want your lad to return to full health, even if that takes some more long days up there at a shitty time of year, long term it will be worth it.

That's the bottom line Dutchy, we could've lost him Friday night and we were none the wiser, we were under the impression that he had an ear infection.

The good part of all this is all the extra time you get to spend with him.

Yeah, he's a pretty quiet lad, we've covered a lot of ground.

I told him about my trip to Pacific Fair the other day when there were women walking around in their bikini's doing shopping, his reply "were they any good?".

15 minutes later, the WCH have cancelled as there is state of emergency in SA due to the heatwave and the hospitals can't take any more patients.

I feel so sick.

flights were already booked.
