Has anyone been this year yet?

Are there any acts you recommend or think it's best avoiding?

Food recommendations?

I did hear that there's a bit of a set up there, I wasn't aware until last night. I'm heading in there tonight with a friend, we'll get a bite somewhere and then just go and see a few 15 minute shows.
I went there Friday week ago with the kids and they loved it, I was a bit restricted on what I could venture in to though.

Going Saturday night to the Garden for a bite and a drink, then to the RCC to see a show a mate is in.

Been to the Garden, not yet this year, but pretty much every year for the last 4-5. Not been to the RCC before though.

Went to the Royal Croquet Club yesterday to drag the kids through that maze. The place was DEAD. Most of the food concessions were closed (at 1 PM on a weekend) and those that were open weren't doing kid-friendly grub. The maze was novel but took all of 5 minutes to get through; not worth the entry price. All up the RCC was a disappointment.

In the evening we got the kids sat and went back into town for a show at Tuxedo Cat *. Got in two hours early and went to the eastern venues for food first. Had an overpriced drink in Gluttony first then wandered across the road to the Garden. Grabbed some junk for dinner & a glass of sangria and wandered around. Stupidly crowded but lots happening, lots to see and do - it leaves the RCC for dead.

* - JFTR, we saw "This Is Not A Love Song". Enjoyed it very much. Worth checking out before the Fringe ends.

My missus will never wander through the Garden and not stop at the little French roasted nuts place. Gets sucked in by their awesomeness every time.

The kids and I got sucked in to seeing the flea circus on Sunday, the dude said as part of his act that it was a $5 show so don't think it would be anything great, unfortunately he was right, it was only the 2nd dud show I've seen in the garden for the past two years and numerous visits.
