Bedge, I'll put my hand up and say I know people at HV firstly.

My initial thoughts are like you, however, I'm on a committee at a rival club and after thinking about it, what they might be trying to do is get parents to fork out the extra few bucks to become sponsors whilst registering their own kids.

Just a thought.

Perhaps I’m in the minority.. and probably out of touch with junior footy. $440 to be a player sponsor for a kid blows my mind.

Not my place to ask but wonder where that extra money goes? If it’s going towards some junior incentive/program/development or upgrade facilities then that’s cool - but should probably be indicated.. I’d happily fork out for a kid if there was some significant benefit. If it’s to prop up senior footy payments or just stick in the bank for a rainy day I would be less inclined.

Come on mate we all know its going to pay John Smith $300 per game for him to train once a week, play 15 average games in the season and then move to a rival club next season.

At least most of the $300 goes back over the bar on a Saturday night, apart from what he pays the young lad in the b grade for his weekend white powder. :D :D :D

Is it voluntary? If so, it's not actually slugging someone is it?

John Nash
Not the singer
Not the Norwood Footballer, Sheffield cricketer
But the guy who predicted Adelaide would be awash with a tidal wave 19/1/1976
