Thinking of changing from wearing glasses (wear them every day) to using contact lenses.
Has any used contact lenses and can share pro's and con's?
Whether to use daily's, f/nightly's, monthly's?
Brands to use or stay away from?
Cheapest place to purchase them from, online somewhere?
Cheers!

I wear contacts. I use to wear the monthly's for years and they were fine until I got a really bad eye infection. I only use the daily ones and only when needed now.

I would get your first prescription for them from your optometrist because you need to know the curve of your eye etc. After that you can get them online. I use www.clearlycontacts.com.au. At the moment I am using Acuvue dailies. I've used others and they have all been fine.

I wear glasses nearly every day as I find them more comfortable, especially when you do lots of reading.
However, I wear contacts for sports and most social outings and I have only ever used the Dailies.
I find them easy with the fact when you have finished wearing them, you just rip them out and throw them away. No messing about with solutions etc. (Comes in very handy when you've had a big night!)
I use Focus Daily Torics, but have tried others and found these best for me. Everyone is different and you will find your own brand you like.
I buy mine online and have bought most from quicklens and 1 lot from ozcontacts as they were cheapest at that point in time. Havn't had a problem with either site.
As cennals says, you are best to get your first lot from the optometrist, so you know they are right, then buy the rest online. All the info that you will need for your script should be on the side of the box.

Hate wearing glasses so have worn contacts for about 15 years. Wear monthlys, which I take out each night. Currently wearing "Air Optix" which I haven't been a fan off compared to others i've had. Feel very flimsy. Have an appointment today to organise a new lot.

My eye sight cannot be repaired by contact lenses.

Lucky you, I would give them a try.

For me its something about the distance from my eyes to the glasses,

unlucky me again.

My first wife had contacts in the hard lens days when you had to rinse and sterilize them each night.
Later she tried the soft ones but didn't get on with them.

I'm lucky at age 71 that I only need specs for fine print like the white pages and sometimes for distance vision when driving if the light is poor.
