i checked and found out of those 967members 340 havn't sent 1 post.

340 people who are lazy.

Prehaps 340 people such as players,coaches and other club personal who just want to see what the supporters are discussing, good for them to use as a PR tool.

I've signed up to PLENTY of forums over the years and never posted one thing!

Just for the record most of the people who don't go to sell out Crows matches are the Port Power supporting AAMI Stadium members.

Erm, no. No less than 99 percent would simply be people who saw the site for the first time, registered then have completely forgot about it (or still read the site but don't log in). If people sign up to spam, they will spam no matter what.

This place is doing well if only 340 of 967 members haven't posted, because roughly 50 percent of the memberbase on the majority of forums never post.

A few of those are some who have made slight variations on their name.

Nah, me and Diss have deleted about 600 spammers between us, mostly lurkers but I'll have to do a cull down the track.

Also a heap more lurkers that haven't registered.

This month for eg we're averaging over 100,000 hits a day!

Also at the minute to stop some trolls coming back all new registrations have to be approved by Admin before they can post. At the moment if people register with a hotmail or yahoo account we're not activating them unless they make themselves known to us, we're not deleting them, but just leaving them there unactivated in case they make themselves known to us.

For the record, i never buy tickets so im not one of the supporters who doesnt rock up!

when i first joined as longtimewaiting i used hotmail as email and never was able to retrieve it so went with longtimewaiting_2

I think a lot of people are getting the arse end of the stick because they've used hotmail accounts and my email isn't advertised on this site too so these people haven't got much chance of telling me who they are.
Unfortunately we've only got this security measure in place due to the way one thread got out of hand in the amateur leage part of "regional leagues".
We'll probably relax it after the season has finished.
In the meantime to any of you lurkers out there that don't know why your hotmail or yahoo email address has enabled you to log into this site just send me an email at mailto:admin@safooty.net and we'll work something out.
