Anyone know a cheap glazier?

Postby fisho mcspaz » Mon Mar 31, 2014 4:33 pm

I broke a window in the bedroom. Nothing particularly awesome about the way I did it, I just stacked it over a power cord and put my head through it. I'm fine - the window isn't. I rang up Jim's Glass but they charged me $197. I have no idea about how much glass replacement costs but I'm wondering if I can get it cheaper, because the window's not very big. It's about 100 x 60cm. We have to move house in a couple of months' time so I should probably fix it if we want our bond back.
Hey Goose, ya big stud! Take me to bed or lose me for ever.

It is one of those odd things in life, over decades, that a home visit by a glazier has always been much more than the cast of a home visit by a GP.
It comes up in newspapers etc. from time to time.

Something to do with social values I guess.

Or junior doctors should give it up and become glaziers... ;)
In my last year in private medical practice I found out the guy fixing my guttering, working as a contractor for a company, was earning more per year than I was. (Admittedly I was only working 40 hours a week 48 weeks of the year.)

It did leave me feeling a little glazed over at the time and contributed to my decision to retire three months later once I'd inherited some cash.
You could say it gave me a clear vision of societal values, and tempered my devotion to duty.

Like that's the real reason. Anyone could see right through that.
