Postage - more expensive and three days a week?

Personally I hardly ever send a letter, so the increase won't hit me at all, but the mentioning of postal delivery three days a week was quite interesting. Personally I think it is a great move, I can't think of anything I get in the mail that has to be actioned within one day, and seems like a sensible move to reduce costs.
Would rather that than them hiking up the cost of postage
