PORT MARKETS + traffic inspectors.

Beautiful sunny sunday and had a choice this morning of
the Flinders street city market or the Port market.
I went for the Port becuse I hate parking in town.
Took little Miss mal + friend to the Port market.
Having not been there for about a year I was greeted by parking ticket
boxes in the carpark at $2 per hour.
Circling around was a parking inspector, I asked why the parking tolls.

" The traders are upset at the Dolphin Cruise people parking in the
car park for several hours and wanted it ."

Lost me forever, I wont go back
Easy solution would be to put up 2 hour parking signs[and penalise the Cruise people]
Why should I pay $2 per hour

Yep paid the $2, and for the whole 56 minutes I was shopping kept
looking at my watch......
The kids wanted an icecream, but I ran outa time and we went to
a shop on the way home.
That traffic inspector was booking cars when I got back to the carpark.

Man, I go to a market to relax and do my own thing, i was intimidated
by the time constraints, I wont go back unfortunately for the traders.

There are greater things to worry about than $2 per hour parking fees

Heck, I'd go for the Port too 'coz the Flinders St market is shite. A dozen retirees selling bric-a-brac they fished out of their garages. OTOH, last time I went to the Port market I came home with an armful of old footy budgets at only 50 cents apiece!

MAL

if you were smart you just park on the street adjacent to the car park!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ITS FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

anyway a MULTI-MILLIONAIRE like yourself shouldnt be concerned over $2

The Dolphin tours are still a cheap afternoon, around $3 from memory for 90mins not bad. You pay more than $2 an hour to park in Adelaide so the Port is still my choice of markets to attend.

On saturday took the family to the new Rundle street market.
The car park for 2 hours cost 20 cents :)
That put us in a good frame of mind, the market was excellent.
The scenery was TITulating as there were lots of young ladies
adding to the splendour.
My rating was about 9.5, and 8.4 for the market as well.
The Port market has unfortunately lost me, if they are worried
about the dolphin cruise people using up the parking they are
kidding themselves.

Well well well
2 years since this topic about Parking inspectors wuz brought up

I said I would never go back to the Port Market , but today I did
Ive got a sore back and went to find the man who does the Bowen Therapy there
I put $2 in for my parking slip and my man wuz there

As I had thought from 2 years ago charging for a car park at Port Markets would stop the public attending
Today there wuz about 100 cars in the carpark
Last time I went I had great difficulty finding a park
There was hardly anyone there today
I would say the crowd was about 80% less than 2 years ago

After my Bowen treatment I browsed
I had 2 hours for my $2 ....
After just over an hour I left
To my f.................................................................g horror I had a parking ticket
I looked at my slip the $2 was for 1 hour not $2 [should have known look at the first post of mine]
Yep I was 1 hour and 14 minutes in the place
I spent $15 for my back therapy
I spent about $10 in petrol getting there
It costs me $88 f............................................................g dollars for the fine
Its almost funny ....

A mob called
CARE PARK PTY LTD issued the fine
who the f.............................................k are these guys ?

As long as Ive got a hole in my asre I will never ever go to that Market again
Obviously others have stopped going judging by todays turn up.

If it isn't the council, ignore the fine.

THANKS SMAC

I rang Port council said had no opinion
I rang up the 1300 number for this mob and had to go thru numbers prompts
remarkably when i try to get to talk to someone it continues on with press numbers prompts
i spend almost 5 minutes going round in circles
REMARKABLY when i press the prompt to pay the fine i get thru
they ask me to dial in the fine number [which i ignore]
now im pissed off
i ring up this mobs office in adelaide on a norMAL number
i explain my situation
1 second after i finish
she says
" send a photocopy of the fine, we will let you off

WHAT THE ...??????????????????????????????????????????????
too easy

what a rort for the people who pay the fine
