I was watching "Talking Football" IIRC when the show was interrupted with the breaking news, at first they though it was missiles I think and then they had footage of the 2nd plane crashing while they were investigating the first one, I didn't sleep that night and was reluctant to go to work the next morning.
I had football training that week for a GF and had to go down Heaslip Road where there were heaps of planes circling the Adelaide metropolitan area for a couple of weeks following.

I vividly remember standing outside at an emergency school assembly at Urrbrae Ag High the next morning.
Now remember Urrbrae is nowhere near any of Adelaide Airports flight paths.
But midway through the principles speech, a passenger jet flew really low overhead, every single person looked up at the sky worried it was going to crash, including the principle.
Suddenly it became very real what had actually happened.

School Work experience. Was working in a cabinet makers workshop, We would normally have music blasting out of the stereo in the workshop but that day we listened to John Laws and his syndicated morning radio show. After lunch we put the music back on.

My wife was in hospital having complications with our first son, I was sitting in a chair next to the bed when it came on the television. Sat there all night watching it unfold, took my mind off the problems we were having. Amazing stuff.

Exactly the same. Nick Holland from the Hawks was the guest coming up after the break- and they never came back!!

My phone went off at 6am it was No1 son from Sydney telling me to put tv on. My girlfriend and I were leaving that morning for a three day trip to Blinman and Wilpena but I sat there in front of the news until she got really stroppy so we left at 10am. Then I stopped at several pubs on the way north to duck in and catch the updates on TV.

I'm pretty sure I was watching the late news as it happened. I know I saw the plane crash into the 2nd tower live. That was ******.

It was very surreal, one of the most frightening things in my living memory knowing how intentional it was and how warped some people are.

Didn't see any of it that night.
Woke up the next morning and as I did at the time, made as little noise as possible while I got ready for work trying not to wake Mrs and two small kids.
Put my CD walkman (man, how old does that sound!) on and walked the 40 odd minutes to work at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Didn't know a thing about the whole incident until around 7:30am the morning after. Spent pretty much all morning watching the TV in absolute amazement.

Watching a show that night (unsure what it was) before the live telecast came on and saw the north tower in flames. Went to bed just after it came on that night thinking it was a movie trailer.
I remember i had a school outdoor ed camp the following day and watching the updates the following morning before i left. Unimaginable horror.

I must have flicked it onto the news after Rove finished. I could never stand him once he moved to Channel 10.

I almost never watch TV (DVDs or downloads instead). But on that night I flicked the channels after a DVD had finished and watched it undold. Reckon it would have been around 10pm. I was living up at Roxby so I rang home and told them to turn on the TV. Reckon we just sat there on the phone for 10mins saying nothing while trying to digest what was happening. Then got a call from a neighbour to come round and watch it. A couple scotch & cokes and a few hours later, the worst was over.
The next morning we were told to talk about it with our students and reiterate that we are safe here. Kids being kids, none of my Year 3/4s were too fussed about it all.
