Hello Sunday Morning

Yeah, well, I haven't changed my mind about deciding to get sober - and this is the best thing that's helped me yet, by far. If anyone wants to give up the grog, or just check in with me on my journey, have a look at the Hello Sunday Morning website. Here's the link to my profile: http://hellosundaymorning.org/maverick85 - I've been blogging a bit on there, probably a bit more desperate and angsty than the usual tripe I come out with, but other than that it's not too different from what I post on here. :-) Five days sober and counting!

Thanks, both of you. It had to happen. I hit rock bottom on Saturday night - was drinking at the footy club, had a public argument with Mr McSpaz whereupon he went home and left me there, and from then on I proceeded to make an absolute spud of myself. I don't think I want to show my face around there for a while. You know you've got to be pretty dreadful if they stop serving you at Aldinga. The worst is that it reflects on MM, and he's so well-liked and respected around there, it must have been as embarrassing as all hell for him when he showed up to training on Tuesday. I had to tell him about my pissed antics because I'd rather he heard it from me than from someone else. He wasn't impressed but he didn't give me a hard time about it either, bless him.

Best of luck with it all Fisho, I commend you for making the effort and at least taking the initiative to realise there is an issue and looking to rectify it.. it's not easy, I've been there, and it can be easy enough to slip back into the habit if you don't have the right people and lifestyle around you.

I think you can do it, and i'm sure everyone else on here is right behind you! =D>

great work Fisho it is not easy as I know I quit drinking for 12 months as of New years. Still going strong not wanting a beer. I have had bad days when I wanted one. Recently I drove from Werribee to Bells Beach at 10PM at night because I felt the urge so bad. I know it isn't easy but you'll have ups and downs. Keep it up and you'll be fine.

Well done Fisho. I haven't given up the grog but drink less and make a 'spud of myself' a lot less and my friends thank me for it LOL.

The main thing I didn't rate were two day hangovers for one day drinkies. WTF??

regards,
