Hi All,
I have done a search (mods feel free to move this one) and found some info about some fundraising ideas, but was wondering if anyone has come up with some different/ interesting ideas on was to raise money for clubs.
I'm keen to try a chase the ace but can't find a lot of information on it, so if anyone can pass on some to me that would be great.
Cheers.

Topless bar girls usually gets the boys in.
See your local butcher, tell him who you are complete with ID, and ask for chook raffle donation.

Ask all the members to donate a tin of food and make up a hamper to raffle.

Quiz Nights & Casino Nights have always raised money quickly in the past for me.
I have run quiz nights many, many times for a multitude of fundraising organistions. We have the venue (free of charge) and do everything bar get the people there & prizes.

Get on the SA Lotto website - you can apply for a sponsorship package. It's a picnic hamper and cutlery and all that stuff, valued at over $100, makes a great raffle prize. In fact, I applied for one for our club, only I haven't gone and picked it up yet, must get on to it. :-/

Must be all gone. We applied unsuccessfully. We can always pick yours up if you haven't yet?

Raffle Tickets
Needs time and effort to organise , but good revenue if done and supported well
I formed and ran new Cricket club and the club needed finances
I was the
Secretary
Treasurer
Selector
Promotions Officer
It was a thrill running my own club , fund raising was a necessity
LICENSE
Need a licence to run a lottery
Applicable these days ?
PRINTER
What I did
Find a Printer for the raffle tickets
Get about 100 books @ 20 tickets per book = 2000 tickets
Each Ticket at $1 per ticket [$1 it was so long ago !]
$2000 [if all sold but never are]
SPONSORS
Find sponsors for the prizes
I used to get the racing codes to donate dinners to the value of for minor prizes
Or anyone that will sponsor a prize for free
I used to get a Pub to have a first prize of $500 for grog
I would buy the grog wholesale, so the pub got free publicity , I got a cheap prize
If the worse comes to worse, no sponsors, have a cash first prize of say $500[bet less profits]
TICKET SELLERS
This is also a compounding problem, getting players and members of clubs to get of their arses and sell the tickets.
Running a lottery 2 decades ago cost about $500 in expenses
So I needed about 500 tickets to be sold to break even , the rest was club profit
For whatever reasons , on average, about half the tickets were sold
So I would have $1,000 in returns cash and make about $500 in profit
I made $450 on this raffle, which was better than nothing !
The 2nd raffle I had , I had incentive schemes, more tickets and did much better and raised $950
NOW
You could do the Lotteries at $2 per ticket
Prize might have to be closer to $1000
If only a small club, perhaps run a lottery in conjunction with another club
