They are gone...they wont get any sales for 6 months since everyone has stocked up on their products. Just like having sales, good sales for a week then you are forgetting about for the period after.

All you can do is help.
At least it might bring their debt down even if they don't survive.

If I was IGA and Foodland, I'd be playing this up big time and doing a SA First campaign based around this, even if they go under.
I shop at IGA because they are locally owned

Great to hear Jimmy, I also do the same and find the service far better, product range comparable to major supermarkets, and local ownership = greater level of support for community events and initiatives, clubs etc.. Great to see everyone getting behind Spring Gully, our local IGA has sold out of products and the manager said they have plenty more ordered, much of which has been pre-sold. I hope they can come through this tough time.

That's great people have stocked up but are you likely to buy Spring Gully in the next few months considering you have stocked up and have no need for it?

I don't want to see them go under, I would rather see the government help Spring Gully than bloody Holden (what a dead industry in Australia, does my head in). However the situation they got themselves in, is not good, not by their own fault by the sounds of it.

I shop at Foodland because I am in walking distance of one, I try to limit by trips to Coles / Woolworths. I never buy their crappy generic brands either.

I'd love to shop at a locally owned IGA but the ones that are close to me are tiny and don't carry a good range. But I do buy all off my meat from my local butcher and buy all my fruit and veg from the farmers market at parafield.

spot on squids, they will more then likely have now sales in a few months due to people buying up. hopefully this will at least ease the debt.
