Dumb things dogs eat...

Postby Footy Chick » Tue Apr 02, 2013 3:42 pm

My Uncles golden retriever Rex started chucking everywhere on Saturday and so he was promptly taken to the vet.

Vets first thought was cancer because he had a big lump in his belly, so they kept him in for x-rays, which showed a big empty mass in his stomach, like something had pushed his intestines up into his tummy.

No improvement over the weekend so they opened him up this morning - and found a shiteload of SEAWEED...stupid dog!

What has your dog eaten?

My staffy x lab nabbed a loaf of bread off the bench and took it out the back. I found the bread bag on the lawn. It had passed through his digestive system and come out whole (a little worse for wear).

My friends had a staffy that would just continually lick the galvanised iron fence, there was a huge shiny patch where it would go, it was so funny to watch.

Over the long weekend we looked after our neighbours dog Bolt, he was great company for my dog Monty, they loved hanging out together altough eventually two year old Bolt got too much for ten year Monty and started to annoy him. Saturday morning Bolt did a little poo on our back deck, 5 mins later I was about to clean it up and Bolt came along and ate it. What a great dog, cleans up his own mess.

I'm not sure if this was dumb or smart but our dog once ate a magic mushroom. After staggering around and halucenating we took her to the vet where she took 2 days to recover. The kicker was we had only had the dog for 3 days and it cost $700 for treatment and overnight stays.
