Unleash Solar boss Dion Perdikoyiannis makes crude comment to creditors during phone meeting

UNLEASH Solar director Dion Perdikoyiannis told the people he owes more than $6 million that "shit happens" during a creditors' meeting today.

Unleash Solar collapsed last month leaving more than 200 households uncertain about their solar deals, and more than 100 subcontractors and other businesses owed money.

Speaking via a phone hook up from the US, Mr Perdikoyiannis repeated claims he made to adelaidenow last week that was working hard in the US in a bid to pay back his debts in Australia.

It was reported that he took $2 million from the Adelaide-based business to set up shop in the US, even as his Australian operation was collapsing.

Unleash Solar administrator Austin Taylor of Meertens Chartered Accountants told adelaidenow of the comments and said creditors took little comfort in Mr Perdikoyiannis' assurances.

Creditors have now formed a committee and will consider whether to take legal action against the directors of the company.

Mr Taylor said the issue of whether the company had been trading insolvent was discussed at the meeting.

The Unleash Solar business was sold late last week, in a move which protects householders still waiting for installations and those with warranties, but would do little to pay the outstanding debts.

The creditors will meet again on April 15.
