THIS will spark a lot of conjecture & debate!
I say it was the end. 2001 was the start of the 21st century.

That would be like saying someone who just turned 11 has only lived for 10 years.

Edit: I thought that said end of 2001 was start of new century, I misread it.

I agree. Funnily enough, most people I know reckon it's the start! the new millenium in my opinion started 12am Jan 1 2001.
