Who believes the world is going to end on the 21st of this month as most if not all religons predicted that this day would be our last? Something about our sun passing through the centre of our galaxy for the first time ever?? This would cause a reversal of our planet possibly, or cause an explosion they say.......plus other theorys.

I guess we will find out on this day if not after

the myans (however you spell it) didn't factor in leap years. apparently it should have happened already....

but the reason for all of this (from what i have heard) is that our sun is going to pass through the centre....dead centre of the galaxy on this date. Whether or not leap years have been counted, its still saying this the 21st of dec 2012 is the offical date that the sun will pass through the centre, maybe they did count it wrong, but the passing will still happen on this date.., but then again no one can actually prove the distance from one side of the milky way to the other.....so yeah

its all rubbish really, but interesting to see people views

something also about another planet will hit us on this date....but im sure the nerds of NASA would have seen a planet moving towards us by now if it is going to happen this way.

maybe the moon will stop orbitting us and crash into us....

Is there a specific time on the 21/12 when the apparent end of the world will start?

I finish work for the year at 12pm then we have our work Xmas party at the Grand at Glenelg at 2pm.

What a crock of shit, the earth or our sun will be no where near the centre of the galaxy. A couple lads at work have saved rations of water, rice and other food stuffs, one has a radiation counter plus other instruments, and i constantly rib them for being DH's.

ps. Pretty sure the only people to forsee this date are the Mayans, not other religions.

Yep it will. Its why I broke up from the missus in April, as I wanted to spend the last 8 months of my life having fun! Certainly did that with 2 trips to Thailand plus more!
And I've had so much fun that if it doesn't end, I'll just spend every year pretending it's going to.

I reckon Port have just been going about their business for the last few years hoping it's going to end this year, if it doesn't they're in a big hole!

PS Bully, our sun wont be in the middle of the galaxy in at least the next trillion years so I don't think we have to worry about that!

I heard that the theory is that because the Mayan calender ends on that date, thats when the world will end. But really its just like our calender, which ends on December 31st, and just starts again the next day. Apparently theres another Mayan calender that starts the day after this one finishes.

A guy at work talks about the other planet, Nibiru or Planet X. Theres dodgy Youtube videos claiming you can see it from Antartica. He's a "ufologist" or something, so I hear about this stuff pretty regularly. Im a massive skeptic. Theres no God, nothing supernatural, and nobody can predict when catastrophes are going to happen.
