Just realised that my subway card that gives me 50% off everything expires at the end of this month, had it for 18 months so was getting quite used to it!

The rape and murder of aspiring Melbourne comedian Eurydice Dixon. Terrible stuff, wish we could breed people like the murderer out of the gene pool.

He needs to be castrated without medication, allowed to suffer for a period and then shot dead.

Sounds like they are already trying to argue he is mentally incompetent

Oh no. Not Chas

No, no, no, no, no :(

Fingers crossed, it's not as bad as you think

Back to the vet for a check today.

It's either pneumonia or cancer, or both. We're unsure.
He seems pretty sprightly though, so we're hopeful.
Little bastard won't take his medicine but.

:(

Smother it in peanut butter.

Hopefully it's the former. At least that one is curable.

Sadly he will be given extra support for rehabilitation, get a degree in law whilst in prison, sue the the parole board for an early release and get a job working for the government defending the rights of people to “express” themselves

Well...we think it's pneumonia. His cough is disappearing, but his breathing is still very shallow. He's been in good spirits throughout, considering.
Here's hoping.

shocking, was reminded again on the weekend that only 1% of government funding goes into specific childhood cancer research as the pharmaceutical companies don't have enough scale to make the treatments profitable so divert their time and energy to adult cancers :(

The divided public over the Eurydice Dixon tragedy.

I'm an absolute fence sitter on this, I seen a good bloke get torn into strips on facebook by a comment that made sense and I agreed with.

I also agreed with the women who berated him, it's a sad world that we live in.

I know where you are going with this and I 100% agree with you.

The only thing I don't like about what the media are saying is when they say "Teach your boys not to rape women". What a ridiculous thing to say.

Also when they criticise Police for saying women should be aware of their surroundings...this is not the solution to the problem but an attempt to reduce the risk to women. There is nothing wrong with Police saying that.

Police only made the comment to be aware of your surrounds before the suspect handed himself into police.

Having said that I think any person male or female should be aware as you don't know what drug affected loon you might come across in the night.

It is a difficult situation, and I stayed quiet on social media about it because it is highly emotive. What happened to Eurydice is an absolute tragedy that should NEVER happen to anyone, and you'd think all well-adjusted folk irrespective of gender are fully aware of that. Same with the Jill Maher tragedy.

Urging people to be cautious and careful, imho, is no different to the message given to plenty of good drivers - i.e., we know you shouldn't have to focus on this because you should be able to expect to do the right thing and be safe, but unfortunately the outcome can be dictated by people who don't, so be aware of that. Doesn't excuse the actions of those who do wrong nor does it promote it, it's attempting to be cautionary.

I've completely stayed out of it with people I know too.

I've been attacked, and if one of the many kicks to the head had hit the right spot, I might not be here annoying everyone. Since then, I'm very protective of people (male and female) and will go out of my way to make sure they dont take public transport alone at night.

To one of my female friends (who I pick up from work at night), that protectiveness was an example she used in a post about how women shouldnt have to be cautious. I really wanted to have my say, but I knew people would label me a piece of shit (for looking out for my friends) so I kept my mouth shut.
