Perhaps too much emphasis is on promoting the safety features of cars nowadays. Obviously the safety features are important but perhaps there are people who think that the safety features will make them (the drivers & passengers) safe at any speed, under any circumstances. Even a collision at relatively moderate speed an occupant of a car will suffer serious injury or even death when not wearing a seat belt. Wrapping a car around a tree or stobie pole, no safety features is going to save you in that circumstances. Certainly keep (and improve) the safety features, but perhaps less promoting of the safety features or a campaign that emphasises that safety features can't always protect the occupants of a car. As they say the most important safety component of a car, is the nut (idiot) holding the steering wheel.

I'm more worried about other features.
From what I've read, if you have the right gear it may be possible to hook something like an iPad into your Satnav display and watch a movie - or the footy - while you drive.
I find that prospect rather terrifying...

One safety campaigner said that it is not really the fact that people cannot handle a speed limit of 80mph, because they can.
They simply cannot do it while they are in the middle of trying to eat, talk on the phone, and mess with the radio.
People already spent little time focusing on the road, and increasing the speed limit is going to get more people hurt.
