Any nerds out there :D ?

is anyone watching this event at the moment. Go to adelaidenow.com.au and see the live streaming.. next time this is happening is in 105 years.

Also the link to NASA was cut yesterday in the NT by a road crew, they are pissed that they cant get their own stream. :)

Also there is suppose to be a total eclipse in Australia in November early morn on the 14th from memory

No doubt. I'm not a nerd, so I don't know if it's ever happened before.

We won't see it as we are inside the orbit of Jupiter. Therefore we only get to see Mercury and Venus.

And no I'm not a nerd either just heard it mentioned in the media over the last few days.....

nearly over now, only half of venus visible on the sun left, better get in, you will have to wait another 105 years for the next time to see it ;)

Looked a lot more interesting on the telescopes set up here...

One telescope appeared to have a red filter on it, and you could see a bit of texture on the sun and some prominences on the circumference. Some of these prominences were comparable in size (on the image) to Venus - and would thus be larger than Venus (and Earth) in actual size.

The other telescope appeared to have no colour filter, but was zoomed in a little more closely. You could make out sunspots as well as Venus.

Well I enjoyed it! :-B

You didn't hear about all the warnings in the media about not doing that??

They even warned about looking at it with just sunglasses.
