Just curious to see if anyone took the day off?
we had everyone rock up to our factory at work today.

i am in absolute shock

lol - it's probably not that hard to rock up to work (if you are Mon to Fri) when you know you only have to work one day and it's the weekend.

you would think that,
i didnt even have a drop of alcohol yesteday.

but i was just reading a couple articles how they think there will be a hell of a lot of people taking sickies.

some say its the australian way to take today off
others say its more australian to rock up to work after a big day, no matter your condition

South Australia losses 40 million today with sickies .... And we complain about high prices of bills and how bad the economy is .

Pretty average IMO ....

Didn't have a sicky, but it is the last rec day I have off before going back to work, always have the last 3 weeks before school starts off.

Most workplaces would have a policy of a doctors cert being required the day after a public holiday.

This whole sickie story is just something drummed up by the media so that they have something to talk about on Sunrise/Today/Morning Show/other crap daytime TV.

Our work conceded defeat and just gave everyone the day off. The factory had to work an extra hour for free for the last five days in leiu of a day off, the office had to take an annual leave day.

i worked, i survived and now im free to start drinking - first one is open, and to enjoy the cricket, pokerstars and get ready for the moonlight cinema tonight :D
