80's dress up outfit

Postby mighty hounds » Mon Nov 21, 2011 8:20 pm

I have an 80's party this saturday night and I'm planning on wearing an old Fitzroy Guearsey with a blond mullet wig. Now I would like to wear fluro lycra pants and was wondeing if anyone on here has had any luck in the past finding a pair or have even seen some around the place? :D

All the clothes I wore in the 1980s were fairly ordinary, and much the same as in the 1990s.
I had the same fairly short hair cut through that period too - I never did embrace the mullet.
Now the 70's - that was different!

I've had a few changes over the years.. ;)

I stepped away from the conventional, first, with a Crew Cut in 1957 to my parent's horror - they sent me to the barber and they got a surprise when I got home..
I had the greasy kid stuff with the DA in the early 60's, though I invented the Beatles do by accident one day when running late for school and had no time to grease up.
Then I adopted a shorter style when I entered Uni, and played a bit more sport.

I grew my first goatee in 1968, followed by hair to the shoulders in the early to mid 70s, then grew a full though shortish beard when everyone else was adopting the goatee.
I had shorter hair from 1975 because I had to pass Specialist exams, but I kept the beard, and just trimmed it.

I experimented with a longish Crew Cut style again from 2003 to 2008, but I'm growing longer hair again now.
Perhaps the 70s will be recycled next...

Not sure who that is  Just wanting anything 80's for pants or shorts that goes with it. I'd wear my old tight footy shorts but can't get them past my knee

No - I bypassed that, though I did have a Kookie jacket, in blue, when I had the Crew Cut age 13.
