Right - appologies in advance if this has been discussed somewhere before in the past!

Just wondering how many of 'us' have been on Television etc and if so for what reason, advert, news, soapie..lol..?

My eldest son was once on Today Tonight tipping competition with Neil Kerley.
My youngest son recently appeared in a segment for BTN (Behind the News) ABC.
My grandmother stopped on the street of Kingscote once and interviewed by the news - think it was when the troubridge stopped 'sailing'.

Me = nothing/never..lol :lol:

What about some of you others - what was your '15mins of fame' so to speak :)
You get what you give....

Have had way too many but most famous would have been in the Fosters Cup, North & Collingwood at Waverley (Night Game). Was on night shift and rang in sick at half time from there and lone behold North hit the front in the last 1/4 and there I was up on screen for all and sundry to see. Had a hell of alot of explaining the next night

LOL- Channel nine news back in my late teens jumping into the Onkaparinga off the cliffs- the day after some kid (unknown to us) had broken his neck doing the same thing.

"Dont you think its dangerous?"

"Nah not if you do it right"

Apart from my current role with ABC, back in around 2000, I appeared on an ABC TV quiz show called "Flashback". Three person panel, a number of different categories, fairly standard format. The person with the lowest score at the end of the main segments was eliminated - that was me, unfortunately.

A few years back, went to the stage show version of "Spicks and Specks" here in Adelaide, at Thebarton Theatre, with the full panel appearing. The night, however, had people being picked out of the audience after answering music trivia questions correctly, to appear on stage as panellists. Fortunately, my knowledge of the name of the Stone Roses' SECOND album won me a spot on stage. Managed to win the entire night, after living my dream to actually compete on the show and play the same games (can confirm that the Malvern Stars On 45 game is a LOT harder than it looks on TV - trying to pedal at the right speed for the records.)

Won a Spicks and Specks interactive DVD, a shirt and a bag. That said, the biggest prize for me, by the length of Henley Beach Road, was sharing a stage with, and meeting, Myf Warhurst

Have had a few, more infamous than famous, moments.

In Year 10 at Salesian College, I was on the It's Academic team on Channel 7 - we somehow fluked it into the State Semi Finals.
In Year 12, a friend and I were interviewed for an hour on the radio (Trevor Ford show on 5DN) about a book we co-wrote on drugs. I should say 'plagiarised from various booklets' rather than wrote!
Prior to one of our early 2000 Grand Finals, I appeared in The Advertiser having my face painted as a bulldog by Emma Hack. Thanks, Therese Hicks, for 'volunteering' me for this embarrassing photo. ;)
A few years back (I think it was 2006), I also appeared on Channel 31's Grand Final Preview show as a panellist as a result of winning our football tipping competition.
Also had a small article written on me in the local Catholic paper when I did a 250km charity walk.

Cheers

Always get roped into being an extra in mates' shorts/films/TV shows/video clips.

Recently was on Sydney Weekender with a bunch of other mates.

Segment was the ultimate "Boys Day Out", an all-expenses paid day at the footy.

Corny as hell...
