To rub salt into the wound as footy season draws closer to an end, and as a poor uni student who can't get anything out of centrelink, just started looking for holiday work November-February, anyone got any advice or past experience they can share? Would be much appreciated!!!

Could consider the silos at Port Adelaide during the harvest months. Probably hard and long hours, but probably pays all right as far as casual jobs go.

Officeworks used to do a night fill over summer, otherwise fruit picking can be a bit of fun if you go with a few mates up at Paringa/Renmark or Riverland.

I've picked up some part time work during the week at a BP servo, working 4-12, couple of nights a week gives me an extra few hundred a fortnight with my centrelink payments while i study? Also fits in well with my study times

If you are down south there is a Turkey factory at McLaren Vale that is always hiring casuals at Christmas time. As you could imagine, Chrissy is boom time in the turkey industry!! Not the nicest work, but got me through Uni!

I would consider applying at Vitera for a casual position at any one of its sites either at the Port, or head out of town a bit to places such as Mallala, Long Plains etc. I know this might be a bit of a hike for some people, but they often have night-shifts which earn pretty handy cash, thus making it worthwhile.

I don't have much idea about what options are available now, but in my Uni vacations I did things like:
Retail - selling menswear for John Martins and fine china and crystal for Miller Andersons.
Industry - packing caustic soda for ICI - bugger of a job and once was enough.
Post Office - Parcel post in Grenfell St.
[And I was a bus conductor for 10 weeks back in the days when they had them.]

And these days the product may come home to haunt you - or demand their inheritance ...

That'd be fine - the product would get as much as the ones I've kept. My last $ will be spent on a lap dance/booze/something else wasteful to coincide with my last breath.
