if i am reading correct. they take a certain percentage off the top of what you sell the item for?

sell quite often on ebay. Not sure on the % but there is usually a listing fee which you can keep it quite low ~0.30c or up to $5 depending on what features you have on your ad. Then they take a certain % of your sale price. It also depends on your starting price...very complicated. Best to get onto the website and have a look
