I ventured over to Melbourne this weekend for a surprise 40th birthday.
The main attraction for the Birthday boy was his first game at Etihad Stadium, and as an Essendon supporter, a chance to watch the Bombers live. He lives in W.A, so he does not get the chance that often either. I also only get to Melbourne once every 2 years & have only ever been to Etihad twice.
Now, we all know the Bombers have been pretty bloody ordinary of late, and as they were to play the Mighty undefeated Cats, I thought I would have the pleasure of watching my beloved Geelong continue that streak by belting the Black and Red marshmallows, and also enjoy a few hours of taunting my old mate along with the other 15 in our touring party.
Now this is where I should have made the connection...
Last time I went to Melbourne for a 40th Birthday was..... the 2008 Grand Final.... The red hot fav? You know it.....
