rough area 9m x 5m, but not a normal rectangular shape, and sloping flat roof- about 6k!!

Yep, a base rail across the blind sits in tracks that are fitted to the posts. Then a crank / gearbox is used to drive them up and down. Anchor points at the bottom fix the blind down.
Go all out like the picture and put a pelmet in to hide the blind when it is rolled up.
They are the way to go. Trust me.
One thing though, CLEAN THEM before rolling them up. It is amazing how quickly they scratch up with sand/dust/grit all over them.
